Chapter Nineteen

As an apology for not updating for ages here's two chapters. 😊

It was simple really.

My father made sure that our guide around school would be Manaka Lala, knowing Yui would be able to make friends with her.

Yui knows nothing.

I on the other hand knew everything all along.

Pretty soon after we made contact with the target another group approached her. They were just a bunch on children with abilities so I didn't see any reason to be concerned. Until they all made contact with them. Special Task Force M.

A bunch of annoying pests trying to find proof of what my father was doing.

Of course I followed Lala around for a while and found their headquarters. Then one day I noticed their leader running out in a panic. All I had to do was send someone to follow her around until she was so exhausted we could easily execute a plan to take her.

All of it was so simple.

Currently Nijino Yume is undergoing experiments. My fathers plan is to turn her until a mindless puppet that can help him achieve his goals. He'll modify her body to make her unstoppable. Eventually she'll stop being human.

But why does it hurt to see her cry. The target I was supposed to watch over. It hurts to see her so sad....

Shougo walked into a large office with a blank expression on his face. In the middle of the room was a large oak desk with an intimidating looking man sitting behind it.
"Can I help you Shougo," the man wondered. He stared at the teenage boy with a cold gaze.
"Is... I want to know about the new experiment, Nijino Yume," Shougo spoke up.
"Why?" The man simply asked. Shougo flinched slightly but hardened his gaze.
"I'm curious as to how things are progressing, that's all," he replied, his eyes not leaving the man. "Please allow me to check on things, Father,"
"Very well," the man, Shougo's father, nodded. He stared at Shougo as though he knew everything and spoke again. "How's Manaka Lala doing?" Shougo's eyes widened for a split second, it was barely noticeable but Yumekawa Florence saw it and a small smirk appeared on his frosty face. "I see," is all he said.
Shougo clenched his fist and bowed slightly before leaving. It wasn't until he was out the door that he realised he'd grabbed his hands so tight his palms were beginning to bleed.

"Onii-Chan... did you go see Father?" Yui wondered in a small voice. Shougo looked down at his sister with pity.

In her whole life Yumekawa Yui had only seen her Father twice and he'd only ever spoken four words to her.

"You, are a disappointment"

"Yeah, I was just asking him about the business," Shougo patted her head softly. "Why don't we go out for dinner once I get back home? I have something to do, I'll be back in a few hours," Yui looked up at Shougo with a happy face.
"Yeah!" She smiled. Shougo smiled at her before turning and and exiting though the door, leaving Yui all alone again.
