OUTSIDE MIDNIGHT MEADOW PSYCHIATRIC HOSPITAL
The outside air was cold. But it was nowhere near as cold as solitary confinement, where I left Osiris; much to both our distaste. Neither of us had any proof we could trust the other, yet we both somehow found ourselves doing that very thing. For the first time in years, I was able to trust another and it honestly feels amazing.
I stuck to the shadows the entire time, in order to not be seen. There was nothing that could go wrong; I had planned everything. For the past 4 years, I had spent my time wisely, learning the layout, the guard patterns, and even the exact spot I needed to climb the fence.
I made my way down the long narrow road, towards the house that was lit like a Christmas tree. It had been years since I'd last seen it in all its glory and it's just as beautiful as ever, maybe even more so. The dark walls were made even darker by the shadows, created by the light being cast from the windows. A small smile crept across my face as I drew closer, I was finally home.
I picked up my pace slightly. I was now close enough to see the perfectly trimmed hedges and well-kept garden. The large white door was immaculate, just as I had left it all those years ago. The large gold knocker banged loudly against the wood. I stepped back slightly and waited, with a small feeling of satisfaction.
A bright light was switched on in the hallway, illuminating the area in front of me. As I stood in the almost unfamiliarity of the light, the door swung open to reveal the owner of the house.
A look of shock covered his face as he saw me standing there in the light, covered in dirt, still in my hospital gown. After a few seconds, his lips curled into a wide toothy grin.
"Arnold, you took your time." He said, pulling me into a hug.
"Brandon, are you going to continue being soft, or are you going to finally let this criminal mastermind into this house?" I shot snarkily at him.

I sat at the huge dining table, opposite Brandon. He was staring intensely at me, a glass of whiskey in hand. I stared at the glass in his hand, watching the drops of condensation fall onto the table. A cup of coffee was placed beside me by one of the many members of staff that worked within the house, I immediately took a huge gulp, savouring the flavour, knowing I had to return to the asylum soon.
"Where is he?" I ask Brandon.
"He'll be down soon, he's just taking care of some business. He was happy he heard you were here." Brandon smiled wide, a hint of mischief in his eyes. He was planning something. Something big. Something they'd need my help with.
We sat in silence for a few moments, just staring at each other evilly. I knew exactly what he was thinking without Brandon having to say anything at all.
The doors swung open, and a girl of about our age skipped in; wearing only knee-high socks and an oversized t-shirt, her light brown hair was tied up into a slick ponytail. In her arms, there was a pile of clothes. She walked over to Brandon, and gave him a peck on the cheek, before making her way over to me, placing the clothes down in front of me.
"These are for you, honey. You must be freezing." She says, making her way back over to Brandon.
"Who's this?" I ask, pulling the hoodie over my head, "you got yourself another concubine?"
