Author's notes: In the first draft of Minerva X, Mia was much more similar to Selena. They had nearly identical personalities, and the reader didn't know about her past and true character. In this version, Mia is more cold and calculating, less playful, and more hostile. Sociopaths do tend to be less manipulative than psychopaths, and I decided to have Mia portray that aspect of sociopathy.
We still don't know much about Mia's past, but it is said in the story that while psychopaths are born, sociopaths are made. There must have been some sort of traumatic event in Mia's childhood to make her the way she is, we just don't know what. And along with Selena, I'm okay with that remaining a secret.
