First day of school

Travis

I looked around the hallway, trying to find where the Hades my first period chemistry was supposed to be. I really couldn't be late on my first day. I already had a bad record from getting kicked out of my previous school, thanks to the greatest prank in history. In my opinion at least. The principal didn't enjoy it as much as I did.

As I was thinking about one of my greatest accomplishments yet, someone bumped into me, resulting in us both on the floor. I looked up when I heard the other person mutter "Oh Styx" under their breath. I was met with a pair of familiar green eyes. "Katie? What are you doing here?" I practically yelled at her. She looked as surprised as I was. "Me? This is my school. What are you doing here?" I buried my face in my hands. Great. Just great. "I had to change schools. The last one kicked me out," I told her. Katie frowned. "Why would they-" Her face dawned in realization. She sighed. "It was a prank, wasn't it?" "No, I was expelled for being too quiet," I said sarcastically. "Yes of course it was a prank. Turns out the principal doesn't like my pranks as much as you do." She rolled her eyes.

I realized we were still sitting on the floor and started to get up. Katie did the same. "So do you happen to know where room 204 is?" She groaned. "Please tell me you don't have chemistry right now." No but we do. Shut up me. "I'm sorry Katie-Kat, but I'll have to disappoint you." "Gods, what did I do to deserve this?" She looked at the sky. "Come on Stoll, I'll take you." Katie turned to the stairs and started zo climb them. "Today Stoll," she called back when I didn't move. I rushed to catch up with her.

Whoosh

When she also entered the room, I grinned. I's have more time to annoy her. "Looks like you're stuck with me Kates. Lucky you. Chemistry is one of my favorite classes. So much opportunity to blow stuff up."

Katie

"So much opportunity to blow stuff up." I rolled my eyes at his dreamy expression. No doubt he was already making up 10 different plans. I was glad Julie was in this class too, so I didn't have to sit with Travis. "Oh my god Katie, who was that?" she asked immediately as I sat down. "He's new here. I showed him where the classroom was." I didn't want to mention I knew Travis from camp. Julie had been disappointed enough when I told her she couldn't come with me. I wasn't going to tell her there were hot guys there. Forget I said that. Julie wiggled her eyebrows at me. "Lucky you," Why did everyone think that? "he's hot. What's his name?" "Travis Stoll," I answered.

I looked around to see him sitting down behind us, next to Robert. The guy wasn't completely horrible, but I knew it wouldn't be hard for Travis to convince him to help him. When Travis caught me looking, he winked at me. I quickly turned back around and cursed myself for blushing. Fortunately, our teacher mostly used the lesson for introductions, so Travis didn't get a chance to set something on fire. At least one thing went right.

Whoosh there goes the time

(It's still the same day btw)

I found out I shared more than half my classes with Travis. He also wanted me to show him where all of them were. At least I'd still have a few days without pranks. When almost a whole day had gone by without them, I'd asked him why. According to Travis, he needed to get to know his 'stage' first.

"Katie-Kat!" I was talking to my friends by the lockers when Travis called me. I considered ignoring him, but knowing Travis that wouldn't work in the slightest. I groaned, but turned around to face him. "What now Stoll?" Eve jumped in before he could get a word out. "Katie I didn't know you had a boyfriend! Why didn't you tell us?" "He's not my boyfriend!" "I'm not her boyfriend!" we both screamed at the same time. My friends looked confused. "Then why does he call you Katie-Kat?" I turned to Travis with my arms crossed. "Excellent question. Why DO you call me that?" At first he didn't seem to know either. "Because you hate it and it annoys you and you know I love seeing people annoyed," he then said with a smile on my face. "But what if I liked it?" "Ha! It's too late to pull that card Katie-Kat. You've already shouted to me about it too many times." He grinned at my defeat. But I had to stop myself from smiling too. Losing an argument wasn't fun, but his laugh was infectious. For some reason, it made me want to smile too. Besides, I didn't mind the nickname much anymore. Over the years, I'd grown attached to it. No one else had ever given me a nickname and it kinda made me feel special.

"Why are you here again?" I remembered that Travis had wanted to say something, but my friends had interrupted. "Oh right. I wanted to ask you if you knew where my locker was." He gave me the number and I said goodbye to my friends to show him. I didn't mind. I understood a new school could be hard at first. And this place was like a maze sometimes. Not the monster-filled sort of course. Unless you counted the popular crowd.

"What's behind this wall?" Travis was looking into his locker. I frowned. "Not sure. Storage probably." He got a wicked grin on his face. "Great. We can work with that." "No. I don't like that look. What are you up to this time?" He pulled out a tape measure and began taking the dimensions. "I'm not up to something. I just don't think all my supplies are going to fit in this little thing." I rolled my eyes. Of course he wasn't going to use his locker like he was meant to. "What are you going to do about it? You can't just make a hole in the wall. People are going to notice." He put his hand on his chest and gasped, playing offended. "First of all Katie-Kat, I can do everything. Second, it's a storage, what's wrong with storing things there?" I rolled my eyes at him again and left so he could get on with his scheming. This was going to be a long year.
