"Why exactly don't you want me to go to Stone Academia?" Heather asked while they were at Rowena's Emporium buying clothes. "I get the part where I'm powerless but you can look after me when we get there."

"I already told you. Vampires can sniff the truth about you. I'm not even sure if Flake hasn't found out yet." Firo answered and rubbed his sleepy eyes.

It's just four in the morning. The Kangs wanted them to leave early so Firo can help Heather buy the necessities in school. "Then I'll stay out of their way. I'll only talk to those with basic powers like you." She said but suddenly stopped. "Actually, I think I'm just gonna talk to you."

"Don't talk to me." He said and turned his back against her. "Buy everything you need. I'll just be outside." Firo said while scratching the back of his head. "I'm sleepy!" He whined and sat on a big rock outside.

"Then sleep!" She shouted back and bought what she wanted to buy.

After, they quickly went to the nearest railway and waited for the train. "Why don't you stay here while I get us something to eat? I won't be long." Heather nodded and Firo left to find a food stall.

She looked around her and found no one else in the street but them. The sun hasn't even risen yet so the Paraillan's must be asleep.

Heather was waiting for Firo when someone stood beside her. Without looking, she moved away and created a meter distance. "Did I just see you walk away from me?" The being beside her asked but Heather didn't speak a word and held tight onto her bag. "Don't you know me? You look like you go to Parailla as well."

What am I supposed to do?! Where on earth is Firo?! She was panicking internally. "I'm new." That was all she said.

"Ohhh... New kid? You don't look like fifteen. Are you fifteen? First years are fifteen but you look like my age." Heather gulped because she had no idea what he's talking about.

"Chase?" Both of them turned around and found Firo with a paper bag on hand. "You ugly buffoon! You're early? That's odd." He ran towards them with a big smile.

"You know each other?" Heather asked and looked at the both of them.

"Yeah, he's Rowena's son. We've been friends for so long." Firo turned to Chase. "She's Heather, my friend."

She looked at him and nodded. "Um... Pleased to meet you?" Heather hesitatingly said.

"Hi, Heather. You know, I was really in the mood for an autograph but unfortunately, she's not a fan." Heather was confused. Fan of what? "Is she one of the juniors?"

"Does she look like fifteen to you? She's one of us." Firo answered.

"But she said she's new. How's that possible? Everyone knows you have to start from the first year to get to the second." Chase curiously asked.

Firo looked at Heather and thought of a reason. "Uh...Poverty?" Heather was alarmed and wide-eyed looked at him. "Yeah. She can't afford the first year so she's just starting now."

"What are you doing? No one said the word 'poverty' describing my status ever..! That word was never associated with me." She quietly shouted.

"Just roll with it. It doesn't affect you in any way." He took out a croissant from the paper bag and gave it to her. "Breakfast." Heather accepted it without hesitation. "Eat well."

They suddenly heard the train coming and got their stuff ready. "It's really starting," Chase said and took a deep breath. The train stopped and the three of them got on without any idea of what's to come.
