After the fall of the last Sith Lord, Darth Sidious, and his apprentice, Darth Vader, in 4 ABY, the Republic has also fallen into chaos. The remaining Jedi masters spread across the galaxy stood their ground once again, who now sought peace in the entire galaxy. They effectively deposed Mas Amedda, the acting emperor, and took the title of "Protectors of the Galaxy." They issued Luke Skywalker as its new leader, and restored the once dissolved Galactic Senate. Now, after thousands of years since then, there was peace.
Until one day, the present Protectors felt a great disturbance in the Force. Jedi Master Atris, the current head of the Protectors, declared to the Senate that an enemy, or more precisely a Sith, has risen from the ashes. With this declaration, the senate, and then the galaxy was once again stricken by fear, for the peace which made them live in harmony will once again be gone.
The disturbance though, was long enough to be detected and short enough to not be tracked. Now, we will proceed to look where it came from --- Trayus Academy.
The Trayus Academy was a Sith school that taught many powerful Sith. Its final head was Darth Traya, along with her apprentices, Darth Nihilus and Darth Sion. Traya was betrayed by her apprentices and severed her connection from the Force. But some time later, the apprentices were killed by the Jedi, and this academy has soon been abandoned.
Darth Nihilus, Lord of Hunger, the second to fall in the Sith Triumvirate. He was killed on his ship, Ravager, thousands of years ago, near Telos IV. His mask and remains were sealed in Trayus Academy and stayed there for centuries, and then several millennia.

🠕(Darth Nihilus) 🠕
Being the Lord of Hunger himself, he was so hungry, even in his death, that he sucked the powers of two nearby planets dry, just to fulfill his hunger. With this great power, he resurrected himself, and a new order of the Sith has been created. Standing from where his remains were, he walked from the Trayus Academy Artifact Room to the Trayus Academy Core. There, he meditated, using the hatred, anger and pain to amplify his powers exponentially.

With Darth Nihilus now a wound in the Force once again, the Protectors tracked the wound and sent many Jedi in there. All the Jedi were either slain or sucked of their powers dry. With the Sith becoming a galactic threat, Atris, together with other high-ranking Protectors, personally went and confronted Darth Nihilus.
