14 Hide And Seek

'You have to be joking me!' Brian shouted as he punched his fist against the wall in anger. 'I'm going to kill him'

'No way Emz you can't' Roxy pleaded. 'It's not safe please don't'

'Guys, what other choice do I have' I sighed as I shoved some clothes into a backpack. Everyone was gathered in my bedroom, they had followed me upstairs after I had explained about the phone call between myself and Karl. Basically to cut a long story short, I was flying to the UK in an hour. Alone. That was his condition of me seeing Alexia again. He would know if the police were involved or any of the guys were to follow. I wouldn't dare risk anything that might involve my baby getting harmed in any sort of way.

'There has to be another way' Jimmy said with his head in his hands.

'I've told you there is no other option. He is meeting me at the airport, he will know if I'm alone or not.'

Brian had heard enough, his temper was soaring, he stormed out of the room slamming the door behind him.

'I'll go.' Roxy said as she left the room.

'Matt, please tell me you sort of understand?'

'I do and I don't. I do in the fact that you really need to see if Alexia is OK and I don't because you don't know what he is thinking and what he could do to you alone.'

'That's a risk I'm going to have to take.' I looked back at each of the guys worried stricken faces. Zacky sat quietly in the corner of the room. He didn't say a word while I was arguing with everyone else. I sighed looking down at my watch. 'Look, I've got to go. Stick to the plan if you don't hear from me within 24 hours notify the police OK, you have the address details downstairs.'

I picked up my rucksack and headed downstairs towards to door. Everyone had now gathered in the front room. My cab beeped from the front of the house.

'Emz, you're a stupid cow' Roxy said hugging me, crying.

'Please be safe little sis' Johnny said I nod, I didn't want to speak for fear of crying.

'Rhino if he touches you or our baby, I swear to god he won't be breathing much longer. Bring our baby back' He hugged me kissing my forehead lightly mid sob, 'I love you'

I turned to the group, tears were freely streaming from my eyes now. I wasn't scared about anything happening to me I was scared for Alexia. 'I love you all so much.' I said before I had to rush out of the door.

'Emz wait!' Someone yelled from behind me, running after me down the path way. I couldn't see who it was from the water overflowing in my eyes, but I knew the voice.

'Oh you're talking to me now?'

'Babe, you don't know how scared I am. I can't lose you again.'

'Zacky you're not losing me. I'm coming back with my baby.' I tried to sound as positive as I could. Zacky cupped my cheeks with his hands and brushed the falling tears away with his thumbs, clearing my vision. His own face was red and tear stained. Without thinking I stood up on my tiptoes and pressed my lips against his in a rough farewell kiss. This just caused him to cry harder.

'I love you Emz' He said while trying to catch his breath between crying.

'I love you too Zacky. I will be back I promise. I'm not leaving you again' He leaned forward and kissed me again. A short sweet kiss. I pulled away and ran towards the cab, not looking back once the driver had started to go.

The plane journey to London seemed a lot longer than it had done in the past. Maybe due to the fact I was unable to sleep. I didn't have to wait around for any luggage since I had only taken my rucksack with me, so I made my way out into the arrivals lounge. Stood at the very back of the hall was the man who made my heart stop, not through love but through pure hate and fear. Karl.

He waved his hands in the air to get my attention. I shouldered my backpack and walked towards him, taking a big deep breath in. As I neared him I knew instantly he had been drinking, he stunk of the alcohol.

'So glad you could make it' He said trying to embrace me in a hug.

'I'm here for Alexia' I stated as I pushed him away.

'Now what was the deal, you have to play nice and by my rules now' he growled low enough so only I heard him 'I'm proud of you that you had the sense to come alone and not bring that scum along with you.' I didn't answer him. 'Come on lets get you home' He slurred draping an arm around my waist.

'What the hell have we let her do?' Jimmy said breaking the silence, causing everyone to look up from their hands.

'What else were we to do. If we would have tried to stop her she would have found a way to go' Roxy explained.

'We have to do something, we can't just sit here. My daughter and my girl are out there with that piece of shit!' Brian exclaimed.

'She's not your girl Brian' Zacky said.

'Like she's yours either!'

'Quit it!' Roxy yelled. 'this is not the time for it. They both mean more than anything to all of us, not just you two with your petty quarrel.'

'We have to do something' Matt said while rubbing his forehead, obviously trying to think of something to do. The silence grew in the room again. It was Johnny that broke it this time.

'I've got it!' He gleamed standing up from his seat.

'go on then'

'Well, Karl told her to turn up alone right. Well there is nothing from stopping us going there after her?'

'Johnny if you were a bit taller and better looking I would kiss you' Jimmy laughed. 'It's perfect'

'Wow, wow, wow, slow your horses down a bit cowboys' Roxy said. 'If we just show up there surely that's going to make things a hell of a lot worse?'

'There's more to my idea' Johnny said.

.::. Emz POV .::.

I awoke with my eyes focusing down on the front of my blood stained, torn shirt. My face pulsating from the beating that I had received the moment that the apartment door had closed behind us both. The last thing I remember was being thrown against the same wall I had been thrown against several weeks ago.

I tried to stand myself up from the chair I was in. I groaned loud as found that my hands were tied tightly behind my back. Karl appeared in my line of sight. I squirmed as the back of his hand collided with the side of my face again. 'I told you to stay quiet' He hissed as he pulled my hair back hard. 'You'll wake our little girl up! I told you that you would pay for this'

'Rex' I whimpered, blood dribbling out of the corner of my mouth. He let go of my hair, shoving my face down. I couldn't cry. I was so scared right now. The stress of the past few weeks, the pain I was in now plus lack of food was finally saying enough was enough. I felt myself falling to sleep when a scream made my eyes open wide. I managed to focus on the door way to the room and Karl stood there with Alexia in his arms.

'Mommy!' She screamed again fighting against Karl crying. He let her go and she ran straight for me.

'Alexia!' I shouted I wanted to hug her to hold her. The tears now fell, she was alive, that's what I needed to see. 'I love you so much baby, always remember that'

'I love you too. I'm scared I want to go back to our new home now. Can we go?' I looked over at Karl grinning menacingly from the door.

'Not yet Rex. You go to your room for Mommy' I leaned forward and whispered in her ear 'pretend its hide n seek time. Go hide baby' she nodded, before running back towards her room. She was too young to understand what was going on.

'Do whatever you want to me, just please don't hurt her'

'I wasn't ever going to touch her. What do you take me for' He grinned taking a swig out of a bottle of whiskey and walking towards me, a smug grin on his face.
