My eyes rolled as I forced them open, the swelling around them made it hard to see anything. I was laying on my back, naked, on my old bed. My feet tied together, my hands tied to the metal head board. I searched my mind for recollection of what had happened for me to be here like this. But I kept coming up with blanks, the last memory was Karl forcing me to drink a shot he had poured for me.
Now my eyes were somewhat open I squinted from the sunlight that poured through the gaps in the curtains, I search around the room. No one, I was alone. I looked again for anything that I might try to use to help myself escape. My eyes fell on the large kitchen knife that laid on the bed side cabinet. No good I couldn't reach it with my hands tied. Movement came to the doorway.
'Well it's nice to see that someone is finally awake.' He said pulling a top over his bare chest. 'Now don't mind me. You carry on doing what ever you were doing. I've just got to pack some things.'
'Pack?' I mumbled.
'Well yes that is what I said. I'm thinking of taking Alexia to the Sea-Side. You know how much she enjoys the sand' My mind wondered to the thought of Alexia when me and Roxy took her and Harmony to the beach that lay behind Roxys house for the first time. She was amazed. We spent hours dipping our toes in the water, followed by sand castle building. The smile on her face is one I'd never forget. One I wish that I would see again. Tears swelled my eyes.
'You can't take her'
'Well who's going to stop me exactly? you're not going any where sweetie'
'They'll find you.'
'Who? the police? Fat chance. Unless you were stupid enough to tell them about me...'
'I've not said a word, as I promised'
'Surely you can't be worried about your measly friends finding me. They wouldn't stand a chance' he smirked, lifting a suitcase onto the bed next to me, filling it with several items of his clothing. 'It's such a shame things never worked out between us, I mean we could of both not had to go through any of this. I just feel so sorry for you not getting the chance to see our little girl grow up'
I snarled back at him 'How many times have I told you she is not your daughter'
'There's the problem when you let me into your life, you made her as good as my daughter, Maybe not by blood relative, but emotionally and mentally I am her dad'
I changed the subject away from Rex. 'So am I just going to lay here naked?'
'Yes, It's a beautiful sight, however you seem to have lost your curves.'
'That would be from lack of eating'
'tut tut, why do such a silly thing?'
'I wonder why'
'Gosh would you look at the time. I really ought to finish this packing. I want us to be gone by nightfall. Hard to believe you've been her for over a day now. I'm really going to miss you.'
'What? what do you mean? I don't understand'
'As I previously said I'm taking Alexia away, you on the other hand are staying right where you are.'
'No you can't be serious' I said struggling, trying to pull my hands free 'You can't leave me here'
'Why not? you left me before, took away what I loved most dearly'
'Yeah but I'll die if you leave me like this' I cried
'Most probably.' He stood for a moment staring at me after he had done the suitcase up. He then moved his hand to the bed side cabinet where the knife was placed, running his fingers over the handle, gripping it. 'Thinking about it, whats say I be kind and help you along a little, you know speed it up, wouldn't want you suffering for a long while now would we'
