I was sitting down, busy fidgeting with a radio. All I was getting was static at the moment. "God damnit....work!" No matter how hard I tried, all I heard was the sweet sound of static silence.
Little Cato put a hand on my shoulder. "Anything, Pop?"
I turned to face him. He had this worrisome look on his face. How did I get so lucky to have a son like him? Well, he wasn't my kid by blood, but....you get me. I stood up and shook my head. "No, son. Nothing. I'm just hoping that we find someone else out there."
It had been a month since we entered Final Space. Quinn was rescued, but we soon had to escape, as Invictus had set up a trap. Doing so, we lost the Crimson Light, with A.V.A along with it. She saved us.
Now we only had one goal at this point: survive.
Butch walked up to the two of us. "I'm guessing you got nothing on your end, huh?" He held up his own radio, and showed how much interference there was in here. I nodded. "Yeah, Dad. I can't reach anybody out here." I stood up and placed the radio back onto the clip on my pants. We all felt a bit off, knowing that there really might not be anyone else but our group.
"Where's that damn husband of yours?" He eyed the horizon, in front of us. "I doubt our friends here would do much against a threat." He eyed the rest of the group, which consisted of Fox, Ash, KVN, Mooncake, H.U.E, and Sheryl.
"He's probably fine. I believe in him." I knew that Avocato was a tough one. If he stuck with me and the group for this long, he can handle anything."
"I believe in Dad too, Pop. You should too, Grandpa!" Little Cato grinned. His smile has kept me happy for this hellish month we've been in. Butch snickered. "I do. He's a tough bastard, your father. Hopefully Gary and his girl are the same way."
Soon, we heard an explosion.
I got up and looked to see the flames and smoke in the horizon. "Son, hand me the scanner." Little Cato gave it to me in my hand and I used it. There seemed to be nothing except flames and our people running away from zombified Garys. Quinn, Gary, Avocato, and Tribore. Though it looked like Gary was carrying Tribore.
"Aw crap! They're in trouble! Mooncake! Help them!", Little Cato yelled. Mooncake complied and soon floated up above, and shot directly at the zombie Garys. We cheered, as the others were able to make it to safety. Suddenly, the ground started to shake. It was a Titan, and he was grabbing hold of the planet we were on.
I stood there, shaking nervously. Was this it? The end?
Bolo suddenly came out of nowhere and began fighting the Titan. The enemy was able to dodge one of his attacks, which led to Bolo punching the planet. The planet WE WERE STANDING ON.
The ground cracked beneath us. Everyone I knew fell into a chasm. Me?
I flew upwards into space.
