I woke up to see that my helmet was on, and that I was floating through space.

And I was falling down towards a planet.

"What?!? No no no no no!" I was frantically trying to turn my body around so that my rocket boots could active. Thankfully, I successfully landed on my two pawed feet. The ground felt rocky, and stale.

I look up to see where I had landed. The sight was sort of beautiful, but mostly ugly due to the dead bodies on the ground and floating in the air.

"So...this is Paris." He chuckled. "H.U.E always wanted to come here, I think." I slowly crept around, holding a blaster in my hand. Hopefully, nothing hostile was around me. "Okay, now all I gotta do is find a way back to the others. I need to know if my family is okay." I realized what I was doing and stopped in my tracks. "Gosh dangit, Pawblo. Keep it together." I slapped myself in the head as I continued onward.

As I walked down the path, I noticed a figure walking around. Using my scanner, I was able to take a closer look. It seemed to be a kid. He looked like he was about Little Cato's age. Grey fur. Hair tuft. Curved ears, like horns. He was coughing a lot, which made me worried. I soon quickly ran towards him.

When I reached him, he passed out. I pulled out a cloth from my pocket and kept it over his face, to prevent the air getting in. According to my scanners, the air quality went to the crapzone. As I ran, I noticed some round robot flying around.

"What the hell is that?" I ran towards it, trying to find its origin. When I reached where it was, I was taken aback. It was a bunker or ship storage of some sort. I sighed in relief and began to look around for a way in. A ladder was on the side of the building. I began to climb it, with the kid still knocked out and tied to my back.

There seemed to be a hole that would open at the very top. Using a tool, I was able to trick the system into opening it. There, I jumped into the hole, landing first to make sure the kid didn't get hurt. As I landed, I noticed how quiet it was. The robot seemed to be nowhere in sight.

My focus turned back to the kid. "Hey, wake up." I lightly slapped the kid's face. He slowly but surely opened his eyes. The boy was in shock to see where he was. He quickly backed away from me, and pulled out a gun.

"S-stay away! P-please don't hurt me!" His hand was shaking while holding the weapon. "I have n-nothing to give you!" I slowly stood up, putting up one hand. "Okay, now. I don't think you want to do that, kid. I just saved your life out there." I pulled out my blaster and tossed it on the floor. "See? I'm not gonna hurt you."

The kid kept the gun pointed at me for a few minutes. He soon dropped it and began to cry. He backed up to the wall and curled up against it. He was confused; fearful. It reminded me of myself when I was younger. I sighed and sat down next to him.

"What happened? You're not hurt, are you?" I scooted closer to him. The kid looked up at me. Tears were all that filled his eyes. "N-no. I...My parents are d-dead." My heart dropped when he said that. "Holy shit...I'm so sorry to hear that." I pulled him closer for a hug. I felt the tears dripping on my arm sleeve.

"So...you've been all by yourself through all of this?" The thought had never crossed my mind. The kid nodded. "Yeah. I've j-just been hiding." He wiped his eyes. "I didn't think there would be something toxic in the air." The kid twiddled his fingers. "I'm guessing I'm the lucky one if I've survived all this."

I eyed him. He was definitely just like me when I was young. He was scared. Confused. I felt the need to act. I definitely wasn't going to let anything happen to him. "Hey. You, uh, got a name?"

The boy looked up at me. "J-Junior."

I lightly smiled. "Look, Junior. My name is Pawblo. I have a group. Friends. Family. Somewhere out there in all this pocket-dimensional mess. My husband and step-son are probably worried sick about me. We're all looking for a way out of here. If you come with me, you'll be safe." I stood up, offering him my hand. He slowly took it. "I'll make sure nothing happens to you."

He pulled himself up.

"Promise?"

I ruffled the kid's hair. "Promise."

Suddenly, we heard what appeared to be a roar. A shadow appeared on the wall, implicating whatever it was...it was getting closer.

I pulled out my blaster and pointed it at the door. "Get behind me." Junior obeyed, gripping the back of my coat. I eyed the open door ahead of us with my gun

The figure appeared.

It was...a small ventrexian?
