I was awakened after a long night, which felt like forever. The detention center was such dark, abandoning the place. Like the depths of hell, deteriorating your inner happiness. But, I'll be out of here very soon. I need to stop worrying and trust Mr. River and Angelina. But, for some reason, no matter how many times I try to deny it, I feel traumatized, like something is scarred inside of me.

...

"Court is once again in session for the trial of Mia Madden." The judge declared. I've already felt accustomed to this chair like I'm numb to this courtroom. The gavel bangs.

"Did the prosecution and defense accomplish further research?"

"Yes, your honor." River replied.

"So did I." Kurt replied.

"Very well, Mr. Kurt, you may call your witness." Out came a detective with a black and golden-trimmed suit. It looked rather stylish for a detective. I had no idea he was working for the police. He looked like a quiet person until I saw his big smile.

"State your name and occupation, please." Asked Kurt.

"Bulloro Brighton! Homicide Detective!" He replied with his usual, upbeat tone of happy vibes.

"I'm not going to remind you, detective, but please keep your testimony honest." Kurt requested.

"Yes, will do." He replied sounding disappointed, with his smile becoming an apprehensive expression.

"Yesterday night, we went to the victims' house. His mother was the only one present, at the time. It's as you say, Mr. Attorney, there were drugs inside the house. But, we were informed Ms. Taurus was hiding drug evidence inside her locker! We were trying to arrest her on the spot until she ran from us! I strike and caught her, and arrested her!" He testified with a shocked tone. The judge caught on quickly.

"Oh my! This all happened on the same day?!" The judge asked.

"Yes, sir! It all happened yesterday!" Brighton replied.

"Then, how did you catch her?" Asked the judge.

"I went to the next street to see if she made a detour to go home. She did, so I hid behind a tree, and without her noticing me, I struck like a rattlesnake poisoning its' predator!" He exclaimed.

"Oh! What a clever move!...Mr. River, you may cross-examine him."

"There's no need. This is the last piece of evidence needed to prove they were doing this for drugs. This means Ms. Scarlett is the killer!" Mr. River confirmed once more.

"Objection! You shouldn't jump to conclusions. You need decisive evidence they were doing this for drugs." Kurt exclaimed.

"What did you say? We have a testimony!" River informed.

"There's no evidence the kids did it for drugs. It could belong to Ms. Taurus." Kurt explained.

"But marijuana is illegal in this state!" River called.

"Then, justice is served for Ms. Courtney Taurus." Kurt cunningly replied.

"Recall Mr. Maloles's testimony. He claims he has never witnessed the victim or Ms. Scarlett has done of the sort." Kurt elaborated

"No..." River said in defeat, as his head was down, and hunched over. His hands were trembling, with fear of defeat in his eyes. Let's not forget Angelina, however.

"Hey, Tira... what about the private investigation report?" Asked Angelina whispering to him.

"The private investigation report? Oh! I forgot about it!" River asked himself.
