Ch.3

"Okay, first of all I'm going to need you to get comfortable with the skateboard" Reki said while placing the skateboard he was holding down to the ground and pushed it towards Langa

"Okay" Langa said while placing his leg on the skateboard pushed towards him. He slowly got on it and then looked at reki

"Relax, think of it as a snowboard" Reki said

"How? My feet aren't even attached to it" Langa said while looking very stiff

"Don't think about that, let go of that fact and just get comfortable" Reki said

"I'm still not used to this, can't I just tape my legs" Langa said stilling looking stiff but managed to maintain his balance on top of the skateboard

"No way" Reki said "I can think of many wrong things with you doing that" he said

"Fine, I'll do my best to be comfortable" Langa said taking a deep breath before he started moving around the park on the skateboard, he slowly started becoming comfortable. His stiffness was slowly fading away

"Looks like you're good now" Reki said after a while of watching Langa moving around

"What will I be doing?" Langa asked stopping in front of Reki

"You'll be learning how to do an Ollie" Reki said

"No way, I can't do it" Langa immediately rejected the idea

"We haven't done anything yet" Reki stated

"I know but an Ollie is impossible, I don't even know how you can do it without falling" Langa said

"You did it yesterday tho" Reki said

"Yeah but that was in the spur of the moment" Langa said

"And that's why you're learning it now" Reki said

"Can't I go by without it?" Langa asked

"Not if you want to experience the whole amazing thrills of skateboarding. I'm sure you want to feel the excitement you felt last night right?" Reki said

"Yeah...it was really fun" Langa said placing his hand over his heart while attempting to remember the rush he felt the previous night

"Then it's decided, you're going to learn how to Ollie" Reki stated while going to his bag and took out the tutorial book he's been making. He walked back to Langa and handed him the book
"I think that will explain everything but if you want me to show you how to do it just let me know" he said before going to take a seat on the bench

"While you practice I'll work on your skateboard" Reki said

"Skateboard?" Langa asked looking at reki curiously

"Yeah, I'll make you one that you will be comfortable with so for the time being you'll have to use mine" Reki said turning design book to a blank page and started drawing "I think I have a pretty good idea of what will suit you so I'm going to make it for you, it'll be a welcome gift from me" he said

"Oh, okay. I look forward to it" Langa said "and I will work hard"

"Then you better start learning now" Reki said

The following two weeks, Langa spent his time practicing ollies and a few other stuff Reki wrote in the book he gave him. When he was not practicing he and reki were in Reki's workshop working on his skateboard..well mostly Reki working on it, Langa would be studying the book.
During practice times Reki kept a close eye on what Langa was doing and gave him tips on how to improve despite most of his attention was directed towards his notebook.

"You did it" Reki said looking at Langa who just fell down to the ground after doing an Ollie

"I did it?" Langa asked looking up reki

"Yes! You did it" reki said grinning "congratulations on doing an Ollie"

Langa stared at reki for a bit before a smile appeared on his face "thank you Reki" he said grinning

"Why are you thanking me? The way I see it you're just a person I'm using for my own benefit" Reki downright stated "I want to feel the excitement I felt when I watched you skate two weeks ago. So Langa once again make my heart beat and I'll show you something awesome" he said while offering his hand out to Langa

"I wont say you're that type of guy. You're pretty nice and friendly but I do have a question" Langa said while accepting Reki's hand

"What is it?" Reki asked pulling Langa up to his feet

"Why do you keep saying I should be your spark or make your heart beat?" Langa asked

"Oh...that's because I love skateboarding with all my heart and it is exciting...well it was exciting but after a while it turned mundane. I honestly don't want to give it up but as things stand right now, I might have to give up skateboarding as a whole" Reki said "that's why I'm desperate right now, that's why Langa I'm asking you to do the impossible" he said guiding langa's hand to his chest

"I want to feel that feeling I got from watching you two weeks ago, I want to feel it right here" he said

Langa flushed red at the sudden body contact, right now he was touching Reki's chest

"R-r-right" Langa said quickly snatching his hand away from reki "I'll do my best" he said looking away too embarrassed to look reki in the eye

"Thank you" reki said grinning totally oblivious to the feelings Langa was currently feeling

"I finally found you"

"Huh?" Reki and Langa said turning to see who said those words

"I challenge you to a beef" miya said pointing at Langa

"Me?" Langa asked pointing at himself

"Yes you, I'll be waiting for you at 11pm don't be late" miya stated before he walked away leaving the two teens alone

"Wow looks like you'll be having your fun sooner than later" Reki said patting Langa on his shoulder "you should go home and rest"

"Oh..okay" Langa said

"I'll see you at S and I'll be bringing your new pal" Reki said

"My new pal?" Langa tilting his head in question

"I'm talking about your skateboard" Reki said

"Oh right, I can't wait" Langa stated

"Cool now get going back home and get a good sleep because you'll be busy tonight" Reki said

"Right, I'll see you at the race" Langa said

"Yes I'll see you" Reki said before the two parted ways heading to their homes
