Chapter 19 : Dayna Leah Wilson P.O.V.-

Elijah walks on but I don't follow behind immediately.

I look at Alexander to see him glaring holes at Elijah's back. I tug his hand that is somehow holding mine despite having his hand around me, to let him know not to be too concerned over whatever Elijah says to trigger him. He seems to get my message loud and clear by the way his face relaxes a little kissing the top of my head.

And like any sensible lady, I swoon a little inside.

Walking into Elijah's office, the first thing that comes to mind is 'Awe-inspiring'.

The man clearly has a taste for designing, the marbled tiles to the contoured black ceiling showcasing the various phases of the moon, and the various art work framing the walls would prove it.
The result of mixing masculine colours with a hint of yellow and shades of black remakes the pale shades of blues and greens that is this masterpiece of a room.

There is a large work table organized on one end of the room, matching with the whole demeanour of the room of course, accompanied by three chairs - one behind the black desk looking all power-worthy with its larger cushioned frame and two smaller ones in front of it, all seems rather expensive either way.

On the other end of the room is the sitting area where Elijah leads us to. There are three long open comfortable looking black sofas forming a 'U' with its opening facing the desk with a complimenting simple white coffee table in the centre.

We sit on his plush seats on one side of his huge office bordering a great view of the beautifully blooming flower-filled garden.

Elijah sits opposite us and stares at how close a stiff looking Alexander is sitting next to a rather comfortable looking me. His eyebrows rise in amusement.

"So, what brings you to my humble abode?" Elijah questions.

I feel Alexander look at me, his stare burning. I try to compose myself a picture of calm on the outside since it is the key to successfulness and persuasion to make your decision happen. My insides feel weird even when I will myself to be confident. After all, the outside will always reflect a little of the inside and I would be expected to know that best considering my profession.

"Our...'engagement' so to say is the issue and I'm pretty sure you were aware of the purpose of this unexpected visit when I called earlier itself."

Elijah's green eyes, startlingly similar to Alexander's but somehow paler but still having its own depth, twinkle with mischievousness and knowledge. He looks at the tense body beside me and then back to me.
