Chapter 21 – Dayna Leah Wilson P.O.V.-

"We have a ball in less than a week that you need to attend." Evelyn said.

"Hmm." I skim the reports that I have in my hand about the new case of a young woman who was put in my jurisdiction.

"Do you hear me? A fucking BALL!!"

"Hmm."

"DAYNA LEAH ISABELLE WILSON!"

"No Isabelle babes, just Leah."

"It has a ring to it though."

"you should have told that to my parents when they were naming me."

"Chil-"she starts, then she facepalms herself, but I don't mind her because I'm toofocused.

Apparently, I'm trained qualified enough to handle a little bit more of 'stressors' Dr Hayle says. Honestly, doctors are supposed to have a more hands on and more traffic experience with our jobs especially during our residency, but by some grace I've had the smoothest transition that's almost impossible to have.

Obviously Melon Hospital was, compared to the EverHill (Pack) Hospital, a more fast-paced environment because it was a partially government-funded hospital with charitable backgrounds and purposes, which are one of the reasons I chose to start my work there and build up. I had hoped to be able to participate in a more hard-going, no-break kind of environment. I mean, there is a reason people call residency an actual pain in the ass. And then I got shifted to EverHill after only a mere nine months of experience.

Somehow, everything ended up working for me because it seemed like psychiatry wasn't the only thing I liked. At EverHill due to the (un)fortunate small number of cases and the slow pace of things, I was able to start practicing other specialities like trauma and general surgery. And surprisingly, the trauma is the most hectic thing I've ever done even compared to back in Melon.

Back when I started a month ago, I was shown the injured people and help form triages and give first aid/ immediate care. But I was never able to go higher than that because people knew I wasn't familiar with their pack's secret and the werewolves' treatment.

But ever since Noah's blow-up I'm pretty sure every single one knows that I know about this. So now everywhere I go people feel like they can actually talk to me and open up to me, compared to before where they kept their distance. I hadn't noticed this, obviously, probably because I was too busy shifting and packing and getting used to this new environment that I now had.

I've even made a few new friends, Lucy and Anika, who are also doctors that work in trauma. So we work together if they happen to be logging in the same time as me. I've also started to hang out with more work friends by being invited to little celebrations like their dog's birthday or their child's first milestone; I didn't even know people could be this friendly to me and this community so connected. No wonder people thrived in this environment.
