I could feel my hands shaking from how fear crept into me. I was on top of the body that I accidentally bumped into and now we were on the floor. I lifted my hands up just not to let my fingers scrape hsi puffed up chest covered with a fabric so thin it seemed to be like his second skin. His chest was puffing up and down from how shocked his body was from the fall that he was now gasping for air.

I could hear the dogs barking and they were about to open the door. I turned my head to look at how aggressive the dogs were, when the boy held both of my shoulders and twisted my whole body to the ground. In a blink of an eye, the chest that was under me was now on top of me and the back of my head was now feeling the coldness of the tiled floor. My eyes landed on his drenched hair covering his forehead and back to the dogs. He forcefully kicked the glassdoor and kept his feet on it before they could push it further.

"Are you okay?" He asked. He pinned his arms on both sides of my head as he grunted at how his body was positioned this time. I sneakily crawled my way out like some earthworm being sprayed with salt. I wriggled my way out from the awkward position we were in and stood up. I brushed the invisible dust all over me and went to hold the door handle so he could stand up.

The impact of the collision was now taking its toll on me. My right arm was quite numb and my back was starting to ache. I knew that he would probably be too since the collision was enough to break bones but I thanked the heavens above that it was not that severe for both of us.

I held the metal bar that served as the handle of the gym door. The other guys inside the establishment were alerted of what was happening. They came up to us.

"What's happening?" They asked, their voices echoed through the room.

"The dogs." I told them, voice turned into a faint whisper due to the exhaustion, and was gasping for air.

The boy whom I crashed with earlier, placed his hand on top of mine and clasped his fingers around the metal handle. He kept the door from moving and motioned for me to take a step back. He made a few quick taps on my forearm enough to make me free my grasp around the metal handle.

"Are you okay?" He asked and tried to make a nudge to tell me that it would be okay to let go of the door. The other guys inside the gym went to the rescue and helped us by grabbing me by my shoulders as they put me to the side.

I completely let go of the door and they were holding their palms against the glass as the dogs were trying to barge into it like they were trying to get in and get a good bite out of all of us.

"Fuck these dogs. Can we report this to local veterinary or animal rescue?" A guy that looked younger than the guy I bumped into suggested. He had a towel on the other side of his shoulder and he held his hands on the end of it in the front as he wiped his forehead with beads of sweat.

"Did you get bitten or get a scratch?" The boy whom I bumped into asked. At first, I thought he was not pertaining to me so I did not utter a response and kept my mouth shut but he turned to look at me and walked a few steps and leaned it to examine me. He even went on his knees and lifted my jeans up to look for any wounds then he was relieved there was none.

Beads of sweat were forming on his forehead as he stood taller than most of us, except for the older guy whom they called coach. He stood taller than me so I had to lean my head backwards just to meet his eyes. It radiated so much worry that I could certainly be deceived whether it was sincere or exuded a sense of responsibility to ask for my welfare after being involved in something he did not want to. Was it because he was irritated that of all available places around the block, I chose this gym rather than other nearby stores? I thought about it but my mind was just screaming that I needed to get inside somewhere before the dogs might have a taste of my flesh.

"Sorry, I went in without notice." I told them. My voice cracked and was as faint as a whisper.

"It's okay. At least you all are safe." The coach told us. I gave him a timid smile.

"Thank you." I told them and made a little nod to each and everyone that got alerted by the situation.

"I'm sorry for the inconvenience." I even asked for forgiveness for causing a lot of trouble that I had caused. I felt like I dropped my metal tumbler in the dead class, breaking the silence and now everyone was looking at me.

"I—ugh." I nervously tried to come up with words that would be able to compromise all the damage that I had done. I made quick low bows on them.

The boy in front of me held both of my shoulders tightly and put me into my place so my head was facing him.

"No need to apologize." His brows were knitted together. He was clearly mad that he did not want to be pushed into this circumstance but he guessed that he had no choice. But due to tension building up inside my body as I was trembling from the fear of getting bitten by the dogs, my lips were shaking as I continuously apologized.
