Oliver's POV
I sighed, walked into the bathroom and looked into the mirror. My eyes were a mix between dark blue and black; the bags making them look even worse. My right arm was scratched from the glass off of the officebwindows. Thea's words replayed in my head over and over. The bitterness making the blow harder. The memories flashed in my mind as I closed my eyes.
The man who's name was etched into my brain swarmed my thoughts. The way he begged me to stop, the way he crumbled before me, and the way I watched the life slowly drain from his eyes. The deafening crack that came from his neck after his windpipe was crushed under my hands. The way I dropped his body like-
"Oliver?" My head snapped up to look in the mirror. "Mum, what's wrong?" I asked as she looked at me sadly. "With me? Nothing, with you however, I think a lot!" She said and walked to stand beside me. "Oliver, you can't keep doing this!" She whispered gently and I sighed. "You can't keep running from this! The past always catches up to you! And you know this!" She explained as i shifted my gaze to her eyes.
"Is she crying?" I asked warily as my eyes darted around the room. "Not yet! But Oliver the point is she shouldn't be nearly crying! This was hard on all of us! You know that they were close, you know they were like sisters!" She paused and sighed. "I know, mum, really, I do!" I whispered and walked out into the hall. "All night?" She asked beside me as I walked to Thea's room. "If she wants me to stay that long!" I whispered and opened Thea's room door.
Felicity's POV
"So how have you been Smoak?" Sara asked as she sat beside me. I laughed lightly. "Other than just seeing my best friend die, I'm ok! How about you Lance?" I laughed awkwardly to try and break the tension but she just looked at me. "Fily, what happened exactly?" She asked as she took off her gear. "Slade happened! Roberts dead, Shado's dead, and Slade is practically coming back from the dead! I can't escape anything anymore! It's all coming back to bite me in the ass!" I whispered as I leaned against the wall of the cave.
"Well, what are you going to do now? There is soldiers all over this island Fell, you can't beat them all!" Sara whispered as she came and sat back down beside me. "Haven't decided yet! I mean, what am I meant to do?" I asked as I watched the flames dance in front of me. "Come with me?" She asked and my head snapped towards her. "You're not serious?" I asked in disbelief but she just nodded as her response.
"C'mon Smoak! I can't just leave you here, it's too dangerous! And you won't be able to leave easily if anyone catches you! Just come with me! You'll be safe!" She said as she stood up. "Sara I-" "Don't you trust me? I've known you all my life, Felicty! Never have I given you a reason to doubt my loyalty to you! You're still very much a sister of mine!" Her smile reminded me of the countless games of hide and seek we played as kids. The way we'd search for Laurel together and high five each other when we did so. When I looked at Sara I felt nothing but complete trust.
"Why can't I just go straight home?" I asked as I collected my stuff. "You know why!" She said and I sighed nodding. Everyone knew why Sara couldn't just come back, and I had missed her every day since she left. "Ok, let's go!" I said and she nodded. I turned to Shado one last time before grabbing a handful os dirt and throwing it over her body, sending her my last goodbye as I followed my childhood friend.
She led the way as we got out of the cave. I left the fire burning, she may be gone, but Shado didn't deserve to be left in darkness. We waded through the water until we got to the edge of the river where we could get out. Always the hardest part. It was easy to get in, but hard to get out.Why was that? How come when you go into the water its so easy you'd be able to do it with your eyes closed. Where as you'd take near an hour to try and get back out of it. Was it like your mind thought you were trapped and started to panic? Was it just physics? Was it jus- "Fell! Keep up!" Sara said as she called behind her quietly.
"Huh? Oh, yea, coming!" I whispered as I jogged beside her."Thinking?" She whispered in my ear the further away from life on the island we got. "More like over analysing!" I mumbled and she giggled. "Well maybe you should tell your brain to shut up!" She smirked and I batted away her hands as he poked my head.
"Back off Lance! We all know I have no control over my brain!" I grumbled as she laughed; probably over our very detailed memories. "Ooh! Remember that time when we were hanging out in your collage and Oliver walked in and you guys banged into each other and you sai-" "Pipe down Sara! I remember exactly what I said! No need to repeat the words!" I said as she smirked; that signature evil glint in her eyes.
"Whoa, sorry I didn't see where I was-" "Sara! Don't repeat the full conversation!" I sighed when she laughed whole heartedly. "Why not? It was really funny! How you just stood there staring at him and he was doing a you when he was watching those girls walk past and-" "Sara!" I groaned and she pouted. "Fine smarty pants! Just trying to lighten the mood a lil' bit!" She said and I shook my head laughing.
"What about the time when we were in collage and you saw this, and I quote, ' extremely hot girl' walking past us and you spat your water out?" I ducked when she went to throw a pebble at me. "Not cool Smoak!" She grumbled and I laughed. "Actually it was! And how you started choking when she smiled at-" "Smoak! Quit it!" She whined and I smiled.
"You started it!" I said and she laughed. "And I apologise! You practically have a photographic memory! You'll remember everything I say!" She complained and I smiled. "Well what comes out of your mouth can be pretty memorable!" And that was when I started running away from the angry blonde who was gonna "bury me 6 feet under" for teasing her.
