As we walked into the hall, hand in hand, like and actual couple. It was a strange feeling but one I wasn't inclined to protest against. I watched as fairy lights sparkled through the room, the hall was decorated with 'ice queen' theme. The whole room was blue and white, classy but very cute.
The music played through the speakers. "Would you like to dance." Acacia asked me. I looked up towards the beautiful girl looking down at me, I nodded. "Of course."
She took my hand and we walked onto the dance floor.
Gazing into my eyes, her hands locked around my waist. I felt safe. I felt as if time and everyone but the two of us were frozen. I could see a small smile in the corner of her mouth as we swayed to the calming music.
Her presence gave me a sense of security. A feeling I hadn't experienced since Nate. I didn't know how she felt, but I knew I felt content with her. I pushed my thoughts to the back of my mind and concentrated solely on her eyes. Her beautiful, beautiful eyes. They were grey blue with one, no two specs of brown on the corner of her iris. They stared at me with a soft intensity, looking from my lips to my eyes and back down to my lips. I was watching her gaze and then I seemed to follow her features. I stared at her plump glossed lips, she was wearing her signature red lip shade which made her lips look plumped and healthy. I began imagining what they would feel like against mine, what she would taste like. I dart my eyes back to hers and I felt her pull me in then away again as she twirled me around the dancefloor, I giggled as I fell into her and she dipped me. Standing over me, her arms tightly around me making sure I wouldn't fall. My arms were wrapped around hers' and our eyes interlocked. I felt her soft breath on my cheek. She smelt like fresh peppermint. I could feel her nose on mine and instead of kissing me like I thought she picked me up, so I was stood on my feet. She smirked at my expression. She twirled me around again then lifted my arms around her neck.
She placed her hands around my waist, she was the perfect dance partner.
A good lead is soft but not subtle; clearly stating her intentions by moving herself, inviting her partner to follow along. She is alert, eyes scanning the floor ahead of her, watching traffic, but is constantly aware of what is happening right in her arms. She treats her follow with respect, never forcing movement from her, but following her through her every movement. If she leads a step or a pattern and she interprets the movement differently than she had intended, she adapts to her rather than forcing change. The follow should have a sense of security and safety, knowing she can fully depend on the lead.
Acacia guided me across the dance floor as if we were in a dream. She kept her eyes on me, yet still, she knew exactly where to take me. Every moment, every angle seemed to be planned in advanced. Nothing felt forced; I literally thought I was floating.
"Acacia," I whispered, "everyone is looking at us."
She squeezed my hand slightly and smiled. "Really," she chuckled softly, "I hadn't noticed."
I felt safe in her arms, I didn't care about anyone else's stares, but hers.
We continued in this contentment for the whole night.
It was getting towards the end of the night,
"Shall we have one more dance?"
I smiled and nodded as she took my hand and twirled me into her arms.
We fell in step, letting the rhythm control our movements. All the scenery and people around us dissolved. It was her and I, alone.
Her sapphire eyes glistened, and a smile spread across her beautiful face.
Uncontrollable feelings surged through me; my body tingled in delight. Her hand brushed across her cheek. My body was acting on its own, no chains to hold me back from this pure paradise.
She drew me close to her chest, and I wrapped her arms around her neck.
Her dark locks fell over her eyes, like a curtain blocking out the sunlight. I desired to see those sapphire eyes.
She began to withdraw her hand to brush away her hair, but my hand clutched onto hers. I carefully laid her thin hand on my shoulder. I delicately tucked her lock behind her ear, and her sapphire eyes twinkled back at me in greeting.
Her lips went to my ear as she whispered ever so softly.
"You know how to be romantic."
I set my head on her shoulder. We continued to dance, too lost in the music to halt. Time passed as our feet moved in the steps of the foxtrot.
I brought her head up and sleepily opened my eyes. She leaned in and planted her lip on mine. I wrapped my arms around her neck in return and held her tight as the kiss continued.
She tasted exactly like I imagined.
Honey and Dark chocolate, the combination that made my heart skip a beat when it collided with my lips.
The kissing flavour of love is soft and subtle and has a slight sweet taste to it.
Her lips left a taste my heart couldn't forget.
The taste of her lips. The warmth of her breath. The smell of her body. The feel of her skin. The sound of her voice. The sight of her ecstasy.
She was addicting, she was my drug. She was the high that I had been searching for so long to find.
She pulled away from my lips and whispered into my ear, "I swear when our lips touch, I can taste the next sixty years of my life."
She smirked and kissed me again, this time it was just a quick peck. A movement not fulfilling my cravings. She took my hands in hers as she began to walk away.
We made intense eye contact as she walked away, she dropped my hands and dissolved into the crowd.
What the fuck just happened?
She had left me; lustful, hungry and confused.
