When Pete first saw the two newest members he was very much in awe. He got surprised by Sungchan's height and Shotaro's cuteness. They almost instantly got along. The pair was very shy and quiet when both got to meet Pete with the rest of the group.

While Shotaro is older than Pete it was obvious that the older was slightly afraid by the Aussie male. Pete tried to make him more comfortable around him. Later on, he succeeded by finding common interests. There weren't a lot of moments between them, but the fans know they're close. They appreciate and treasure the few interactions the groupmates share. Pete even said in a video that he wants to get closer with Shotaro. Fans hope his wish comes true.

Tall Couple/Funny Couple
Sungchan and Pete already knew each other from their trainee years. They trained together for some time. There were casual talks and slight conversations, but they weren't exactly close. When Pete heard he will debut in NCT he promised himself to get closer to him. The first reason was that they're going to be in the same group, but the second reasoning was the more important one. They're same age friends just like with Chenle. Pete made sure to help the other with anything he could and to have lots of conversations with him. The fans saw how close they were and in a Vlive Pete also told the story of how they became close friends. This couple is well-known in the whole fandom.
