A week before his Birthday
"Great Tsukishima's still not here." Yamaguchi said
"So let's plan his birthday party." he continued
"Do we have to?" Kageyama dreaded
"C'mon, Tsukishima may be a pain but it's still his birthday next week." Hinata told Kageyama
"Fine."
"So I was thinking of a surprise? Like we pretend we don't know but when he arrives here at the cafe we surprise him." y/n suggested
"That's great!"
"Ok me and Hinata are in charge of making the cake here at the cafe." Y/n said
"Ok, Me and Yamaguchi are in charge of the banners and utensils." Yachi said
"Why don't we go to the mall together, Yamaguchi?"
Yamaguchi blushed and nodded.
"Kageyama, can we trust you with the other food?"
"Aren't we already at a cafe?"
"Kageyama, we only have pasteries here." Hinata crossed his arms.
"I'm sure Four-eyes wouldn't mind."
"KAGEYAMA" everyone scolded
"Don't be like that Kageyama, Tsukishima surprisingly cooperated on your birthday, last year."
"Fine fine, you can trust me with the food."
End of Flashback
Today is Tsukishima's Birthday
It was difficult for everyone to pretend.
But everything will be worth it once the surprise happens.
They all tried to act that they forgot Tsukishima's birthday.
Tsukishima pretended like he didn't care but he was actually pretty disappointed inside.
No one has greeted him for his birthday except for his relatives but he expected at least one of his friends would remember.
Everyone has been quite obviously quiet around him until Yamaguchi broke the silence and said.
"Hey Tsukishima, are you available later at the cafe?"
"Sure."
Yamaguchi walked to y/n and informed her that Tsukishima was going to the coffee shop later afternoon then y/n smiled because she knew that all their plan was working already.
Tsukishima's POV
Today is my birthday but I don't see it as much of a big deal.
But it would've been nice if someone acknowledge that my birthday was today.
Today at lunch everyone was acting weird
Because they were awfully quiet.
Yamaguchi was also pretty silent during our volleyball practice.
While the two lovebirds (Kagehina), where just busy flirting with each other.
Right now I am walking to the cafe and I notice that the cafe has curtains now, so I couldn't really see if they're already there.
I slowly open the door to the cafe.
"Surprise! Happy Birthday Tsukishima!" they all shouted and ran over to hug me.
We all fell to the floor and they started laughing.
"Thank you, everyone." I smiled
Everyone stood up, then Y/n lent me her hand.
I grabbed her hand and she helped me to stand up.
We just giggled and then she realized she was still holding my hand, then she let go.
"Oh, sorry tsukki." she grinned
"It's ok-"
"Oh, right!" she turns around and takes the strawberry shortcake, my favorite.
Yamaguchi lit up all the candles on the cake.
Then they all started singing Happy Birthday.
Y/n was holding the cake and handed it to me.
"Make a wish Tsukishima." she smiled
I wish y/n l/n to be mine someday and to see that beautiful smile everyday.
I wished to myself.
Then I blew the candles.
"What's your wish, Tsukishima?" Hinata jumped up and down.
"None of your business." I smirked
"Not fair!"
Then Yamaguchi took the cake from my hands.
"I'll just go slice it up." Yamaguchi said
I nodded
"Tsukishima, here's your gift." Kageyama handed the gift.
Everyone gasped
"Did kageyama just give Tsukishima a present?" Hinata said
"Thanks-" I said as I opened the gift
It was a T-Shirt that said "I'm in love with Dinosaurs."
The others started cracking up.
"OH My, I cAn't BreAthE." Kageyama laughing
"Not funny, king."
"It wasn't funny when you gave me a t-shirt that said "King of the Court" on my birthday last year."
I laughed
"Anyways, Tsukishima we got you another gift. What if we go on a trip this weekend?" Yamaguchi said
"Sure, I'll go."
"Wait where are you taking me this time?"
"It's a surprise, dino boy." Y/n was still laughing
"Don't call me that." I frowned
I would hate to admit it but today was the best birthday I've ever had.
