Chapter 7: Surrounded by Darkness

As Aluna and I walked back to the Brooks household, Luke tackled me from behind with a hug. 

"Where'd you go?" He asked, still hugging me. "Who's this?" 

"My name is Aluna. You must be Luke. You see, Skye came to me for help." Aluna introduced herself.

"Babe, why do you have to pick a fight with Chloe. She's a bitch and a damn good fighter."

"Did she beat you before?" I asked.

"She beat all of us." Luke hid his embarrassment.

"Wow thanks Luke for not supporting me." I replied sarcastically and rolled my eyes. 

"I have a better idea than meeting up with her. Hangout tomorrow and have lunch together?" Luke intertwined with my hands. 

"Sure! Anything but Chloe nonsense."

"Isn't Chloe like a part of the... Oww!" I saw Luke kick Aluna's  shin.

The three of us walked back into the Brooks household. Chloe was in her usual bitchy mood while Beau hung his arm around her. Jai looked up and his eyes darted to Aluna. A smile formed on his face and for a few seconds... his mind went elsewhere. Aluna shifted uncomfortably and fidgeted.

"Luke, I didn't know you had another bird!" Beau randomly shouted out.

"I'm not in a relationship and the name's Aluna. I'll hang around Skye so that she doesn't feel alone."

"But I want to be Skye's cuddling partner!" Luke's grip on me tightened as he whined.

"I didn't say I was going to cuddle her. I said I was going to make Skye feel like she's not the only shade in the house."

"You're a shade?" Jai gawked.

"What's the matter? Engulfed by my serene beauty?"

"Um m-maybe?" Jai replied quietly.

"That's good that we can clear up the tensions around here."

Hi guys, sorry this chappie is short, but I just wanted to publish this chappie before I actually take a break from wattpad to focus on exams and what not. When exams are over, I will resume updating. :)
