Chapter 27

Caterina choked on what she was eating and blushed scarlet red.

"What do you mean Damon.  A good man is who that is a gentleman ", Caterina said.

"Oh really I thought you didn’t like good men. You rather prefer bad guys, love", Damon said winking.

"Oh shut up and eat", Caterina said drinking her hot chocolate.

Damon shake his head and look at her. He was looking at her when he suddenly remember where he met her and what was she doing. He clenched his fist and his eyes became sharp and cold.

"What were you doing in The Kings  yesterday ", he asked.

The atmosphere  had suddenly changed from playful to serious. Caterina looked at him in the eyes and gulped it seems he is angry.

"I- I was there for work", she said in low voice.

"Work. What kind of work you will get here. And are you sure you were there for work and not for flirting.  Because I saw you flirting with a man ", Damon said angrily.

 Caterina gulped. This man is like a volcano no one knows when it will erupt and when it will erupt no one would be able to stop it. Caterina doesn't want to make him angry so she told him everything in hurry slipping out her identity as assassin too.

"I was really there for work. My work was to kill him. How will I kill him if he won't talk or get close to her. It's not my problem.  And its not like I was enjoying it. I swear there was nothing".

"You fucking became an assassin.  Are you out of your mind. How can you be it. And you didn't even gets to know that your drink was spiked", Damon shouted.  He was really angry how can she do something stupid like that. What if someone would kill her. He doesn't want anything to happen to her.

Caterina bit her lip. She accidentally slip it out that she was an assassin.  She knows that she is in trouble.  But he shouted at her how dare he.

"I am sorry.  I didn't notice it. Trust me it was the first time I was drugged. Please don't be angry", Caterina said with eyes full of tears and act pitiful. Well this should do, she thought.  She doesn't want to deal with his angry self. And its the best method to get out of the situation like this.

Looking at tears gathered in her eyes Damon sighed. He can never get angry on this girl for more than 5 min. His gaze becomes soft and then he apologized for shouting at her. Yup it worked, Caterina thought smiling.

After few minutes of silence Damon told her about the phone call he got this morning.

"The manager called me and told that our security system was hacked for few minutes. The person hacked into the camera for few minutes and then logged off. The person just saw the footage of when you came out of washroom and I took you. Other than that nothing".
