Mid-October 2004, Age 17

Phoenix, AZ

At long last the insanity of the last few months was done and over with. The twins breathed a sigh of relief as their mother and her new husband Phil fed each other pieces of their wedding cake after a hesitant and completely unwanted father-daughter dance only Bella had taken part in due to Mariella's refusal before grabbing their mother for a mother-daughter dance. The blonde and brunette share a look with each other before rolling their eyes and making their way out of the hall, excusing themselves to the restroom.

"Are you sure about coming? Once we make this call there's no turning back." Mariella asks.

"What if he doesn't want us?" Bella asks her older twin, biting at her finger nails only to have them smacked away from her face.

"Stop doing that or I'll start with the hot sauce again and we both know you can't take the heat." The blonde glares at the younger twin making sure to get her point across before continuing. "Dad loves us Bella, he'd do anything for us. Of course he wants us besides if anyone should be worrying here it's me once he finds out."

"Clem, maybe the test was wrong."

"We did it 5 times Bella. Da-, Dad isn't my dad, not biologically but he is in every other way that counts and that is all that matters. We tell him after Christmas while they're on their honeymoon and if he's ok with it and pretending like we never found out like we're already doing with mom then we move to Forks while mom gets to go on the road with Phil."

"I just can't believe she cheated on him and then this whole time she's been pretending like their marriage fell apart because of him." Bella says with tears in her eyes.

"We wouldn't have even known about half the things she said being lies if not for finding that old diary of hers."

"Dad will want to see it himself."

"We'll make sure to pack it but we'll also warn him that way he's not caught off guard if he does want to see it but don't push it Bell. If he reads it, that diary will break his heart."

"So Forks, huh?" Bella sighs after a bit.

"Oh come on Bells, we've been going there for years and you still haven't gotten rid of your aversion to all things wet and cold. Can I just mention one thing? Ice Cream!"

"Ugh, stop doing that! Just cause it worked when we were little and I believed you when you said Forks was like living in ice-cream doesn't mean I'll believe it now at 17."

"It was still worth a shot besides it did get you to keep going even after the fishing incident."

"You swore you'd never bring that up!"

"No, I swore never to talk about it with anyone me mentioning it to you who was involved is not me breaking my word."

"Quit it with the wordsmithing!"

"You love it when it gets you out of gym."

"Just-ugh!" Bella throws her hands up in frustration. "How are we even supposed to live there until college? The room won't fit two regular beds and I don't want us to end up kicking him out of his own room."

"That isn't a problem. I already did some research and there's a few houses for sale but I think I already know which one will work out for all of us and I'm pretty sure Dad will jump at the chance for it especially when with a little maneuvering it's going to end up being a couple hundred grand less than it would be otherwise."
