Sophie gets ready for school when she recieves a call from Link.
"Link!"
"What?"
"I'm going to school.... I'm scared dude! What if nobody likes me?! What if I get bullied?! What if I can't make any friends?!"
"It'll be okay Sophie! I promise!!!"
"You sure?"
"Positive."
"Okay.. well I gotta go. Bye Link. Love you."
"Love you too!"
They hang up and Sophie gets dropped off at her new school.
She walks into her first class and sits down next to a red haired girl with freckles.
"Bonjour!" Says the girl.
"Bonjour! My name is Sophie! I'm not from around here." Says Sophie nervously.
"Oh you aren't?" Asks the girl in her british accent.
"No. I'm from the United States."
"Wow! You're a long way from home. You poor thing! You must be so nervous!"
"I kind-of am...."
"Aww! Don't worry! I'll be your friend! Oh and my name is Annabelle! I'm not from here either. I'm from England. My mum made us move here last year."
Class starts
The teacher walks up to the front of the class and motions for Sophie to come forward.
"Hello class! As you know I am Miss. King. Today we have a new student with us! She just moved here from the United States! Everyone welcome Sophie Bellerose!"
"Welcome Sophie!" Says the class.
Sophie waves nervously to the class.
"So, anyone have any questions for Miss Sophie?" Asks the teacher.
A brown haired boy in the back raises his hand quickly.
"Yes Bruno?" Asks the teacher.
"What part of the United States are you from?" Asks Bruno.
"I am from Buise Creek, North Carolina." Says Sophie.
"Wow! You're a long way from home huh?" Asks Bruno.
"Yeah.." says Sophie.
A tall blond haired boy raises his hand.
"Yes David?" Asks teacher.
"What is that necklace around your neck?" Asks David.
"Oh this?" Asks Sophie as she looks down at the closed heart locket. (The one from Link)
"Yes." Says David.
"Um. This is a necklace given to me by my boyf- I mean best guy friend from Buise Creek back home." Says Sophie as she opens the locket.
"Who is he?" Asks David.
"His name is Link Neal... I miss him and my other friends." Says Sophie sadly.
A fat boy with dark brown hair raises his hand.
"Yes Dennis?" Asks Miss. King.
"Are you stupid like all the other Americans? You must be..." says Dennis. He then laughs at her. The whole class except Annabelle, Bruno, David, and the teacher laugh also.
A tear runs down Sophie's cheek.
"Hey! Don't make fun of her because she is American!" Yells Annabelle to Dennis.
"Shut up little british girl!" Yells Dennis.

Sophie sings quietly as she doodles in her notebook.
"Here I am, once again
I'm torn into pieces
Can't deny it, can't pretend
Just thought you were the one
Broken up, deep inside

Behind these hazel eyes...."
The bell rings and Sophie walks to her locker still singing with her books.
"Hey dork!" Yells Dennis as he slaps Sophie's books onto the floor.
"Why thank you! I just wanted to pick up my books off the floor today!" Says Sophie sarcastically.
"You're a nerd." Says Dennis.
"Yes, I am a nerd
Bookworm, I’m studious
From my cerebral cortex to my gluteus
Back in Kindergarten
I aced my college entrance exam
Now, I’m no rocket scientist –
Oh wait, I am!" Sings Sophie.
"Dork." Says Dennis as he slaps her in the face with his book. He laughs and walks away.
Sophie falls to the ground and holds her face. She then scoffs and picks her own books back up. She opens her locker, grabs her backpack, and walks to her dad's car.
"Hello Sophie! How was your first day?" Asks her dad.
"It was okay. Very different. I made a friend. With a nice british girl named Annabelle." Says Sophie.
"What happened to your face?!" Says her dad as he points to the red slash mark on her face.
"Oh I just got a book dropped on my head.. on accident. I'm okay." Sophie lies.
When they get home Sophie flops onto her bed and calls Link.
Link answers almost instantly.
"Are you done with school for the day? How was it? Did you make any friends?" Says Link.
"Y-yeah I'm done...", says Sophie in tears,"It was the worst day of my life Link!!! I got bullied.... A mean boy threw a book at my face...."
"WHAT?!!!!" Yells Link.
"I'm fine really."
"No you're not!! That is horrible!!!"
"Well I miss you... how's Rhett? What about Lizzy?"
"Well Rhett is totally lonely. He is writing slow songs again....",says Link,"And Lizzy... well she...... is balling out crying on the floor.... at my house... she misses you."
Sophie's lower lip starts to quiver as she starts to cry.
