White Love 39: Unexpected Proposal
RYOSUKE YAMADA 山田涼介's POV
"I want to be with you so please marry me, Ayana!"
That's what I said just a few moments ago and to be honest, this silence is killing me right now. Argh! For goodness sake! My heart has been beating so loud and so fast ever since a while ago as if my heart's going to burst out of my chest! B-but... Why is Ayana looking at me...as if she has misheard of something? C-chotto matte... D-does this mean that she doesn't want to get married to me?
"A-anou..." I said as I tried to think of something that can enlighten this awkward atmosphere that we have right now.
"I-i know that this is too sudden, Ayana but will you please listen to me---" I said as I finally calmed myself and regained my composure but I was taken aback when I saw her tears flow down from her eyes while still looking at me. E-eh!? C-chotto matte!
"C-chotto matte, Ayana... W-why are you crying?" I said as I panicked while looking at her. W-why did she cry!? D-did I do it wrong? Argh! D-dou shiyou? As I was about to wipe her tears with my thumb when Ayana suddenly took a step back and wiped her tears by herself. E-eh?
"Are you making fun of me, Ryosuke-kun?" I heard Ayana ask while still wiping her tears. E-eh!?
"What? Of course not! Why would I do that?" I said as I couldn't control myself and suddenly raised my voice while still looking at her in complete shock. What was that!? How could I ever do something like that...especially to her!? I just saw her slowly return her gaze to me as her tears continue to fall down from her eyes.
"Then why did you suddenly say that?" I heard her ask which made me furrow my brows. What?
"Why? Didn't I already tell you just now that I want to marry you?" I said as I repeated what I said a while ago. Do I really look like I was just joking around when I say that?
"Why?" I heard her ask once again. Huh!?
"What do you mean, why?" I asked in return since I don't understand what's on her mind. Why are you doubting me right now, Ayana? Did that guy tell you something that can make you doubt me? I was deep in thought while my eyes were still fixed on her when I saw Ayana wipe her tears once again as she turned to look at the sky and avoided my gaze. I don't understand why but... Why are you doing this to me, Ayana?
"Why do you want to marry me? I thought you're protecting your image? You're an idol, remember? So why are you asking me this?" I heard Ayana ask while still looking at the sky. To be honest, those words that she said just now...
