(Another chapter of a story from Dennis' point of view.)
Dear diary,...
It's Thursday today, and luckily for me it's just one day before Friday which means me and the Blam Fam are pretty much free after school tomorrow! I was pretty excited for what we're going to do today, like making the loudest tunes with the Dinmakers, or even hang out at the Beanotown park to do some extreme skate tricks!
To be honest, I am a bit indecisive on what to do, unless it involves Grizzly Griller and his extreme wildlife survival skills and adventures on the telly! But now I am just here, in my classroom with boring Ms. Creecher telling us to revise Mathematic, a.k.a. everyone's least favorite subject. I groaned as Ms. Creecher told us to take out our Math activity books that she had provided for us yesterday. Oh guff bombs, I really wish that either Miss Mistry or Miss Kwan could liven up the class with fun and keep the whole class away from boring, pesky lessons that Ms. Creecher here forced us to revise!Thursday after school
So I was pretty much exiting the school on my skateboard with loyal Abyssinian Wire Haired Tripe Hound Gnasher with my best buddies and guess what, we happen to saw Miss Kwan, looking a little bit sad as she walked back home. Man, I really felt bad for her even if I don't know why she's feeling a bit blue. But what I only knew is that she told me last time that Walter's excessive seeking for her attention must've driven her mad.
"Hey Miss!"
"What is it?" asked Miss Kwan, a bit exhausted.
"I don't know about that, but she seems a little... stressed." said Rubi.
"Huh, does it mean that she's a little too worried?" I replied.
"Yes Dennis. In fact she might've been in need of cheering up, or if that doesn't work, she might've need a bit of space."
"Yeah, I actually really agree with you on that, Rubi," J.J. responded.
But luckily for us, Miss Kwan stopped and turned her head around.
"Thanks kids, but I'm not in the mood," Miss Kwan responded "But......"
Miss Kwan took a long time to think, even if that made me and my best friends wait for a long time.
"How about I come with you guys to your hangout place?"
We are a bit surprised, really. But we sure do agree that she can at least have some peace to herself even if she had a hard time being used to rowdiness as what me and two of my friends, Rubi and J.J. must've thought.Thursday Evening, at the Den
"To be honest with you guys, I just don't really want to be a burden to myself," said Miss Kwan wearily. "I had so much work to do as a teacher that it's technically driving me nuts"
"Huh, well we do understand what we're going through." said J.J. "I do admit that sometimes I can have my moments of pushing myself too hard, but I have to remind myself to find my inner peace, like with yoga or listening to music on one of my brothers' IPod."
"Yeah thanks for the advice. It's just that I need to remind you that being an adult may give you freedom but it requires a lot of responsibility," said Miss Kwan as she lied down on a couch, while my dog partner in pranking Gnasher puts on some glasses and started acting like a therapist you usually see in cartoons. "Which is why with great freedom, comes great responsibility, regardless of age."
"Wait, did you just quoted Spider-" asked Pieface before being interrupted by Miss Kwan.
"Yeah yeah, you got the reference, little kid talking to a potato."
"Which is why I am a bit afraid of growing up." I said as I bowed my head down and looked slightly away. "Just imagine being forced to become boring by other boring adults who say you weren't good enough. That's just... guff!"
"I understand what you're talking about, Dennis." said Miss Kwan as she put her hand on my shoulder. "I was like you when I was younger. Always fearing the possibility of being put down and silenced by other grown ups who will disagree with me."
"Huh, you're pretty right too. Which is why I have my friends by my side!" I responded.
"Yeah, you're pretty much that beneath your exterior of being troublesome. Besides, I'm actually worried about you from what you did with Bertie."
I chuckled and smiled. " Relax, Miss Kwan. You were amazing out there for being under that guff nut Walter's spell!"
"Did you mean I'm not easily fooled by this spoiled and rancid teacher's pet?"
We all laughed happily. It's pretty much it, but I got an insight on why Miss Kwan was that way in being unsure whether to be a bit of a boring adult or a super Blam kid at heart like my Gran.
