It was a Saturday and also pretty much obviously the day that is every children's favourite. That means spending a lot of free time with friends and family members they actually like and are close to. With all of the video game playing, and hanging out with each other usually associated with that particular day, that also meant something slightly different for the adults themselves, as it's just Miss Kwan all alone, in her flat, drawing some sort of comic on her thick sketchpad that she owned since 7 years ago.
And that particular comic is about a witch boy from another dimension with a dog familiar going on very incredible adventures. And it's the second chapter she drew, which is about him in the human world, hanging out with his human friends, who are a white girl and an Pakistani boy respectively. And while the colouring of this particular comic wasn't perfect as it turned out since she haven't even mastered her shading yet, she is proud on how the sketch and the line art of the characters, particular backgrounds per panel and even the monsters that she drew herself turned out to be better since she put a lot of effort into it.
It was true after all, that Miss Kwan wanted to be a cartoonist. She had that ambition in mind when she was 7, after her sister gave her comic magazines to read that were given to her by her school. And that's how her artistic hobby and ambition awakened, as art not only expresses her imagination, but also lets her express her thoughts and feelings throughout her life, as her art style got better during her high school years. However, what she didn't know that being a cartoonist does not seem easy, what with struggling to not go poor, or even heaven forbid, hungry.
She also remembered that some of her comic ideas got rejected by a publishing company once since they showed no interest in publishing her idea into a book. And that just tells her a lesson, that sometimes it is hard to get the approval you need for something you've spent your blood, sweat and tears working on. It was truly a brutally honest lesson to learn, but she has to muster up more determination in life than usual in spite of some bouts of laziness and lack of motivation, so as to make her life better for her.
And after those thoughts had finished wandering in her mind , she was halfway in finishing that chapter of her comic but still got up from her study desk and office chair that she bought in the Beanotown furniture store anyway. And decided to go outside again to know what Dennis and his friends are up to.
And decided to head to the place where she knew more of them for the first time, which is Beanotown Park.
And as she sat down on the bench like what she done before, she heard a familiar laughter and giggling. And she guessed it was from Dennis.
"Isn't it a blamtastic game Gnasher, Parpers on targets!" said Dennis to his dog.
Even Gnasher would agree, that ever since his adoption, that he and Dennis have a lot of things in common. Especially with not minding on getting dirty all over themselves, or even going on adventures and playing games. He also fondly remembered that when Dennis was 9, they would always pretend to be magical superheroes from outer space or even go around playing pranks on Walter. And this time, they are playing Parpers on targets which involves using a Screwtop Carbon Fibre P-Blaster 4000 to launch whoopee cushions at a target board nailed to a tree's trunk.
And then he turned around his head and saw Miss Kwan just sitting there on the bench, while she was texting Miss Mistry about the latest adults-only Turkish movie called Rascal Cat that so happens to be coming soon in the Beanotown cinema and how she was lucky to had watched it on the Internet yesterday night.
"Oh hi miss, want to join the fun?" Dennis called out to Miss Kwan as he noticed her presence.
"Thanks Dennis, I could join in the fun, but I'm not feeling it at the slightest." Miss Kwan replied. "But at least I could give it a try since I'm not letting you feel down."
And as she gave it a go, she was feeling the same as what she was at first, a bit bored on how simple it is, but after a few minutes she actually found it surprisingly fun and found herself chuckling upon hearing the noises that the whoopee cushions make. And it is pretty obvious that to her surprise and subtle glee, that she found herself enjoying it for how it surprisingly amused her.
"That's actually pretty fun as I got to admit", said Miss Kwan "Where's the others by the way?"
"Rubi's busy helping with her father and J.J.'s pretty much not in the mood for playing Parpers on targets with me." Dennis responded. "So it's just me and Gnasher since Pieface is-"
"Dennis, sorry for the wait!" Pieface said as she suddenly arrived "Paul took ages in the bath!"
"You mean a potato took a lot of time in the bath?!" Miss Kwan said loudly as she was confused on how a potato can take a long time bathing itself like a human.
"Yeah, exactly that." Pieface replied. "And also what's Miss Kwan doing there?"
"Relax Pieface, I'm not going to threaten you with detention or anything," said Miss Kwan. "Besides, there's not much fun going on this park anyway since Rubi and J.J. can't come here."
Dennis nodded while being slightly worried. It wasn't indeed the second time he knew that this would happen.
But Miss Kwan suddenly had an idea in mind.
