It was 6 May, 3 days before the Malaysian day for Mother's day, where every one can appreciate the efforts made by their mothers, aunts, grandmothers or any female relative who are you know, their mother figures, regardless of the 'mother' or child being related or not.

And yes let's also say and remember that it was also a Thursday afternoon at recess at school time, where the kids have time to eat lunch at the school's cafeteria or play in the playground near the school's basketball field. Meanwhile, the teachers resume their work in their office, as Mrs. Creecher tasked Miss Mistry and Miss Kwan with (the horror of all horrors), MARKING ALL of the homework sheets that the students did during Math Class. Even Miss Kwan who ironically liked doing normal math in her upper primary school years, is actually shocked. She groaned as she clutched her head from all of those math papers she has to mark. Even Miss Mistry is as shocked and upset as her.

"Uuugggh!... I hate marking papers. That's just a major bummer when compared to me arriving late when my pupils needed me the most!" said Miss Kwan as she remembered the time she arrived late during last week's History class, which is one of the lesson subjects that she taught most of the time.

"Don't worry Bernice, I remembered the time you almost arrived late for our university class sessions." said Miss Mistry while reassuring her that this isn't the first time that she'd ever saw her in that exact situation.

"Oh yeah,.... thanks for reminding me Maya! Anyway I've got something important to tell you like what I've told the pupils of class 3C this morning," said Miss Kwan as she stood up and snapped her fingers after remembering that aforementioned time. "It's going to Mother's day at Sunday!"

"Didn't we already had Mother's day 2 months ago?" asked Miss Mistry.

"Don't worry, we can still celebrate it even if it's over." said Miss Kwan with hope filling her heart.

"So what are going to do? Are weee... still going to wish our mothers a better well being or other things besides that?" Miss Mistry asked as she pondered.

"Well I've got a better idea," replied Miss Kwan. "We're going to give Dennis' Gran a great surprise."

"Wait a second, did you just said Dennis' Gran?" said Miss Mistry. "Since when did you got to know her?"

"It's a long story, I saw her riding on her motorbike on high speed with a pig also accompanying her, while she gets chased by the local policeman Sergeant Slipper himself."

"Soooo... what happened next?" asked Miss Mistry.

"Well I ran after both her and even Sergeant Slipper, to which I found her being visited by Dennis. I was curious and asked him who that same old lady wearing a leather jacket and riding her motorbike is, and he said that it was actually his Gran." answered Miss Kwan

"So you're not joking when you said that she is his-"

"Gran, yeah. I was as surprised as you are, but at the same time we all know that Dennis' mischievousness does run in the family."  said Miss Kwan as she decided to finish Miss Mistry's sentence that she cut short herself.

"Huh, maybe we could give her a surprise gift?" asked Miss Mistry as she thought of an idea on how to surprise Dennis' Gran.

"Naaah! That's too old school. Maybe we should try out another idea..." said Miss Kwan. "But I haven't got any good ones either."

"Maybe you should ask others on those, Bernice," said Miss Mistry "Or maybe try asking Dennis and his friends?"

Miss Mistry gasped in excitement. Who'd knew that Miss Mistry was simply right on advising her to get some great ideas on how to give Dennis' Gran a good surprise for Mothers' day?
