The rest of the day passed in a complete blur - she didn't look at Gina once, as though she thought one moment of eye contact might reduce her to a flood of tears. Nobody else seemed to care what Rogers was telling them to do. Amy and Jake definitely seemed a bit off but they hadn't properly broken up, despite what Jake had said to Rosa after the whole cheating rumour was spread. Rosa knew they would never break up. They were soulmates no matter what anybody said, and even though they seemed a little distant from one another, everybody was being more or less their usual selves. Maybe the blackmail Rogers had against her was  stronger than what he had against them? She just didn't understand any of it any more.

The end of the day came quickly and she was about to leave when Gina came and plonked herself down next to Rosa in her car.
"Ermmm," Rosa said. "Hello?"
"Hey," Gina said casually. "Mind if i come for a drive?"
"I- what?"
"MIND IF I COME FOR A DRIVE?" Gina repeated loudly in Rosas ear.
"Oh god, okay i heard you the first time Gina. Fine i guess you can."
"I think we should have a talk while we drive."
"Do you."
Rosa started up her car and stared straight ahead at the road, her knuckles white with the force she was using to grip the wheel.
"As a matter of fact, I do."
"I dont think-"
"What the hell has been up with you?"
"Wow, straight into the deep end, yeah?"
Gina stared at her in disbelief. "I'm Gina Linetti."
Rosa rolled her eyes. "That one's on me. And nothing is up with me. I don't know what you're talking about."
"Mmm. Do you want some music?"
Rosa nodded and indicated that Gina should open the CD player and choose one to listen to.
"CDs, how old school," Gina mumbled, surveying her options. "Why are these all heavy metal?" she scrunched her face up and selected what she grumbled was the "best of a bad bunch".
"Quit moaning and put it on or don't Linetti."
Gina raised her eyebrow and went to open the CD player.... suddenly time seemed to stand still for Rosa. Her heart began to race...

Tears streamed down the detective's cheeks as she screamed the lyrics to the sad song she'd been playing on repeat for 30 minutes. She choked on her tears and screamed again, grabbing her hair and pulling as she put her head in her hands, then wiped her eyes quickly before slamming her hands down onto the dashboard as though she didn't know what to do with herself. 'stop crying' her brain was telling her. Her eyes were stinging and the world was blurry through her tears. Rain lashed against the windows. She grabbed her notepad and scribbled down her true, raw feelings as she felt them. It was the only thing she'd ever found to make her feel okay. Paper couldnt let her down or invalidate her like people always had. The tears slowed while she wrote and she flopped back when she was finished, panting with exhaustion from the effort of sobbing so strongly. She couldnt bare to look at the paper, instead stuffing it into the CD player. Nobody else would find it in there.

"STOP, GINA!"
"What?" Gina frowned and pressed the button to open the CD player.
"NO!" Rosa yelled, overcome with panic. Everything seemed to be in slow motion. Gina raising her eyebrow and reaching for the piece of paper. Rosa forgetting all about driving and throwing herself across to grab the paper out of Gina's hands. Gina turning her head and screaming, a sharp, piercing scream, as the car skidded off course...

the way the world seemed to spin and flash before everything went black.
