"Hi Rosa," Gina said, striding past a stunned Rosa and plinking herself down onto her friend's sofa. "Eughhhh," she said, standing up slowly and looking in disbelief at her wet trousers. "Rosa, what...?"
Rosa forced a laugh. "Spilled my drink. You startled me. What are you doing, Gina?"
"You were being weird today. You're my friend. I care about you. So, I am here. Tell me what's wrong or don't but i'm here."
Rosa blinked. "You- what?" she laughed. "Linetti has a soft side... who knew?"
Gina smiled. "Can I..." she gestured to her damp clothes.
"Yes, of course, one minute," Rosa headed to her bedroom to find Gina some clothes.
Gina stared at her in disbelief when she reappeared. "Rosie i don't want to sleep in jeans thank you."
"Sleep?"
"I'm not leaving. I can sleep on your soaking wet sofa," she laughed.
Rosa was about to protest, but... maybe it would be nice to not be alone. Something about Gina made her feel safe, like she could be vulnerable around her. She was also making the apartment feel a lot warmer all of a sudden.

*HALF AN HOUR LATER*

"Can I come over?" Gina asked. She was curled up on the armchair while Rosa sat on the dry part of her sofa. Rosa nodded absent mindedly and kept watching her Nancy Meyers film. Gina sat down next to Rosa and shuffled over so she was on the dry part too, squished right up next to the raven haired detective. Gina blushed slightly and determinedly looked away from her friend.
"Rosa, can we turn the heating off?"
"My heating isn't on."
Gina cringed, blushing even more furiously as she felt Rosa's hand cup her cheek and tip her face upwards. "Why are you so pink?" she laughed.
Gina cleared her throat. "I just - you look very nice," she said awkwardly. She had never been this nervous around somebody before.
Rosa scoffed, trying to sit still. "I am in pyjamas Gina."
"They're very nice pyjamas..."
The two girls stared at each other for a moment and dissolved into laughter. Rosa's heart soared. It felt good to laugh.
Gina grabbed Rosa's face and held it still, gazing into her eyes and slowly leaning towards her.
Rosa couldn't believe what was happening. The girl she'd been in love with for months...

Wait. No. Not Gina. Anyone but Gina. She grabbed her shoulders and pushed her away.
"I'm sorry, Gina, I-"
"It's fine. I should go."
"Oh, no, you don't have to-"
"Sorry Rosa I need to go now," Gina said, standing up and pulling Rosa's trousers off. She paused as she realised what she was doing and took in Rosa's furiously blushing face. "Sorry."
"It's alright. You can keep the trousers, they're old ones. Thanks for coming. Bye."
Rosa angrily blinked back the tears that threatened to spill over her cheeks.
"Right. Bye Rosa." Gina let herself out and Rosa sat alone once more, consumed by sadness.
