Venti lead a very disgruntled Xiao to his home. To be completely honest, it shocked Xiao to see Venti had such a large home. He couldn't help but wonder what Venti did for a living in order to be able to afford a home this large.

He shrugged it off, sure that Venti would tell him in time. He just hoped that time was soon, considering he was rather impatient.

Venti lead him all through the house, pointing out little things here and there when Xiao spotted it. A black feline curled up in a ball on Venti's couch. "What is that?," Xiao squinted his eyes to look at the creature.

"It's my cat! His name is Dvalin, I'm sure he'd let you pet him if you wanted," Venti ushered Xiao over to his sleeping kitty.

"I don't know...what if the creature is vile and attacks me?," He asked, looking up at Venti.

"He wouldn't hurt you, I promise," He kissed Xiao's cheek. "I'm going to go make dinner, you can try and make friends with Dvalin" He hummed, walking off.

"Stupid Venti leaving me with his so-called cat," He scoffed, sitting like a toddler beside it for a while as the kitty continued to sleep.

After a while, Dvalin unmoving and Xiao curious, he reached out a hand to touch the creatures head. He began to stroke it softly, and surprisingly didn't find it utterly displeasing. The cat began to purr which shocked the hell out of Xiao. He jumped back and yelled for Venti.

"YOUR FLUFFY CREATURE IS GOING TO EXPLODE! HE'S MAKING THIS WEIRD NOISE!," He screamed, getting as far as he possibly could from Dvalin.

Venti came in, with a cat themed apron that honestly looked really adorble on him. Xiao blushed before shaking his head. Venti looked at his cat and back at Xiao. "You mean purring? Cats do that when they're comfortable, you're so cute," He giggled. "Dinner is almost ready anyway, do you wanna feed Dvalin?" Venti asked.

"No! I don't want to feed that....creature," Xiao huffed.

"You'll have to get along with him Honey, Dvalin is very protective of me" Venti hummed.

"Fine, then I suppose I'll feed him..." He rolled his eyes in annoyance.

"Thank you, the cat food is in the shelves above his bowl in the dining room.

Xiao followed Venti's instructions, and opened the can of cat food, putting it in his bowl. Dvalin walked in, rubbing against Xiao in thanks before eating. Xiao smiled softly at the fuzzy cat, maybe he wasn't that bad.

Venti walked into the dining room, starting to place their food on the table. "I hope you like it, I made Barbatos Ratatouille, with a side of Almond Tofu" He rubbed the back of his neck.

Xiao's face lit up. "Almond tofu?!," He grinned.

"Y-yeah, what about it?," Venti's eyebrows furrowed.

"It's my favorite, thank you," Xiao smiled, sitting down.

"I'm glad I made it then," Venti took off his apron, setting it on the counter behind him before sitting down to join Xiao.

They ate and conversated, and Xiao was pleasantly surprised that he actually enjoyed Venti's company despite their many differences. They also seemed to have quite a bit in common, and Xiao found himself wanting to learn more about Venti and be around him more. This feeling was new to him, but he didn't mind it. He quite liked it actually.

"You know you can stay the night if you want, we could watch some movies and cuddle, then have a sleep over," Venti said while washing the dishes, Xiao holding and petting Dvalin.

"Sure, sounds like fun...but I have work tomorrow," He said

"I know, I'll drive you," Venti giggled, drying his hands.

"Okay...but I do have a question for you," Xiao said, walking with Venti. "Actually several questions"

"Okay, shoot," Venti hummed, leading Xiao to his home movie theater.

"First, why did you start coming to the cafe for me? Second, what do you do for a living, and third, how do you know my schedule so well," He scowled.

"Well, I started coming to the cafe on a recommendation, which just so happened to be your first day there, and then I just sorta kept going. I found, and still find you incredibly attractive and interesting, unlike anyone I've ever known before. I guess you could say I was drawn to you. To answer the career question, i happen to be a singer, which is why I'm surprised you didn't notice me sooner. And I know your schedule so well because I bribed your boss to tell me everytime you work," He chuckled nervously.

"Drawn to me?," He looked at Venti.

"I told you we're soulmates~," Venti said in a sing song voice.

"I don't understand the concept of a soulmate, what is it?," He asked softly.

"Well, they're believed to be reborn lovers that once were in love in one timeline and then they were seperated by death and later in life they're fatefully brought back together. At least that's what I believe," Venti shrugged.

"I see...so you believe us to be lovers in a past life?," Xiao hummed, petting Dvalin.

"Yep! Pretty much. It's a dream I have over and over, we're gods in this mystical world of dragons and mystical creatures, I'm a bard and, well I'm not entirely sure what you other than brute around all the time," Venti admitted sheepishly.

"That's really far fetched..."

"Maybe so, but it's a nice thought, real or otherwise" Venti smiled, sitting down in the theater, snuggling up to Xiao and Dvalin when they sat down.

"What do you wanna watch," Venti asked.

Xiao shrugged, wrapping his arm around Venti.

Venti blushed, "wowwww sooo helpful," He rolled his eyes.

"What about a cat documentary," Xiao offered, Venti laughed.

"Just an hour ago, cats were the bain of your existence. Now you love them," He smiled.

"I think it's just Dvalin that I like," He shrugged, kissing the cat, making Venti slightly jealous.

"I guess we can watch a cat documentary," Venti flipped through Netflix till he found one, cuddling up to Xiao, in hopes maybe he would also get a kiss.

Sadly this moment never came for the singer and he had to watch his boyfriend(?) kiss and snuggle his cat instead of him. When the documentary was over Xiao asked where Dvalin slept and took Venti's cat to bed. Venti sighed and followed, watching his cat get all the love he wanted.

Xiao looked up at Venti once Dvalin had fallen asleep. He was confused by Venti's expression. "Why is your face like that?," He asked clueless at what was wrong with Venti.

"Oh nothing just watching my cat get more love from my soulmate than I've gotten," Venti said bitterly.

"I apologize...I did not know you wanted my attention," Xiao apologized.

"Of course I want your attention! I've had the biggest crush on you for 2 years you idiot! And yet you still give more love to my cat than me" Venti was hurt, and he felt stupid for it.

He felt stupid for the tears welling up in his eyes. He felt stupid for being jealous of his own cat. He knew that Xiao wasn't the best at human interaction and everything, but it couldn't help but hurt his chest. Venti ran off in an attempt to not let Xiao see him cry his heart out over something so stupid.

All Xiao could do was watch him run away. It pained him and he didn't know why it hurt so much to see Venti cry, nor why it hurt so much to watch him run away. His mind was telling him to not follow Venti, and yet his heart disagreed. It was an unusual feeling to have such conflicting emotions. But without a second thought he ran after Venti, searching everywhere in the house he could. Because that day he learned something valuable.

When you love someone you'd go to the ends of the Earth to find them. And maybe that's what this new found feeling in his chest was, love.
