Awake... for now

I awoke to Legoshi's face peering over me. I watched his expression change rapidly from distressed to relieved. My eyes opened very slowly. I tried to sit up, but it was too strenuous. "Oh, don't try to get up just yet." He said in a concerned, yet soothing voice. He held me tighter, which is what made me notice he was holding me at all. "Ugh... what happened...?" It hurt, but I managed to get the words out. My head throbbed in pain, each surge of blood bringing forth agony. "You blacked out. You were out for a few minutes..." He tried to disguise the unease in his voice with a calm, gentle tone, but I could hear right through his façade. "I-I'm sorry, but I couldn't catch you... you hit your head pretty hard." Yep, I guessed. "We need to get back to the dorms." I said, trying to push myself up. "Oh, no no no." Legoshi gently laid me back down. "I really think you need to rest for a while. "I'm fine; if we're not there in the morning they'll know it was us." I could tell Legoshi knew I had a point, but still forbade me to sit up. "Y/N, it doesn't matter if we get in trouble; your health is way more important." I tried to protest against him, but he placed a finger over my lips. "We're not risking your safety so we don't get in trouble." He said in a relaxed, yet firm voice. I knew there was no convincing him otherwise. "Do you have a watch? What time is it?" he examined his wrist and replied, "3:12 AM." I scoffed quietly. "So... does that mean we're sleeping here then?" I think the thought had already occurred to him. "I- I guess so." I nodded, forgetting about my splitting headache. I groaned as I felt it hit me again. He hugged me close to his chest and comforted me.

Strange how  in a span of two days, you can go from fearing someone would take your life...

to falling asleep in their arms...
