Ryan's POV

I kissed Kelsi one more time and waved to her as she walked away. Most of her attention was on the kids. She was waving to them with a bittersweet smile on her face.

"Have fun in Australia!" I shouted.

"Bye Mommy!!!" The kids said as I ushered them back into the car.

"Why did Mommy have to leave?" Sarah asked me.

"She is going to go to this place called Sydney to go write music with famous people." I tried to explain it in terms that a five year old could understand.

"I'm gonna miss her." She frowns at me from the backseat.

"Me too," I say and look at her in the rear-view mirror. I shift my gaze to Aiden, who has somehow already managed to fall asleep. I was surprised he didn't cry when Kelsi left, but I'm sure that will come later. "But you get to hang with Daddy. Do you want to go play at the park?"

This immediately brightens the little girl up. "Yay!"

After almost an hour of New York traffic, we make it to the apartment, where I parked the car in our private space and then loaded the kids out. We walked the two blocks to Central Park, where Sarah ran to the playground and immediately started talking to some other girl about her age that was there. It is amazing how kids can make friends to easily. I lifted Aiden into a sing and pushed him while he laughed. I cherish these moments with my kids.

Tomorrow is opening night. My life will get busier and it will be harder to spend quality time with my kids. Kelsi and I hired a great nanny who helps take care of them when we are busy, but I don't want Aiden and Sarah to think we are neglecting them. They will stay at the theater with me during the day, but the Nanny will be there to help supervise. This is going to be an amazing show. I can't wait.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Today was opening day, and I was in my dressing room putting the finishing touches on my hair. I walked across the hall to Sharpay's dressing room. She was still putting her loads of makeup on. I swear it took her longer to put on regular makeup than it did for Elphaba in Wicked.

"You ready sis?" I asked with a smirk.

"Oh please, Ryan," Sharpay turned around in her chair to face me. "When am I not ready to take the stage? I just have to finish my hair and makeup and I'll be ready. We still have three hours until house."

"Okay. I'll leave you to get ready. I have to go find the kids." I walked away, heading through the maze that we call backstage. I eventually found them playing tag on the stage, running around the set people that were putting the finishing touches on it.

"Careful kids," I said as Sarah jumped into my arms. "Don't get into anyone's way."

"We won't," Sarah insisted.

"Okay then, go play." I set her down and went to talk to the nanny, Mary, and Peyton.

"How's it going?" I asked as Peyton angled his signature video camera around the room. He was in charge of getting all of the backstage footage.

"Great," he said as the camera once again landed on the kids, who were now playing hide and seek.

"You're going to make a great dad," I said, patting him on the back as I walked away. He nodded his head.

I walked out of the building through the crew entrance and walked to the front of the building. Since the show was not for a while, there was no one outside. Wait, never-mind, there was someone talking to the security guard at the door. I walked over to get a closer look and noticed she was familiar.

"Gabriella?" I asked as she turned to me.

"Ryan!" She said as I gave her a hug. "Long time, no see."

"What are doing here?"

"Well, I was in town for a little vacation, and I saw a poster for The Wonder Twins. I couldn't believe that opening night was the same time I was in town. I was trying to get tickets, but this man says they are sold out."

"They are sold out, but I think we can get you a seat." She smiled. "Come on backstage and I will see what we can do. Sharpay will be happy to see and old friend."
