STEPPING past the vines, Fundy looked in amazement at the scenery before him.
How had he never seen this before?
Trying to recall the last time he explored these woods, he remembered his dad-Wilbur-briefly warning him not to go in this direction because it was really close to neutral territory, back when he was a kid.
Neutral territory was where anyone could have the advantage, the land belonged to no one, which meant that if they were in that territory Dream and his goons wouldn't be the only thing they had to worry about.
So naturally, he avoided this area.
Now he was starting to regret listening to his joke of a father.
"How did you find this place? You know this is really, really close to neutral territory, right?"
He was slightly worried though, what if she had left L'manburg? If she did the DreamTeam could catch her at any time and hold her hostage! He couldn't let that happen.
Not to her.
"I was exploring the area to try to ignore-I mean, to get my mind off of the whole losing my memories thing."
She seemed as though she was going to say something else but fixed it, Fundy could tell she was lying about why she came here due to how the smile she put on her face afterwards was slightly forced.
She also winced slightly, he noticed.
Fundy, narrowing his eyes, knew all too well that if she was wincing, something was bothering her.
Was she in pain?
Why would Y/N try to hide an injury though? Especially from him? If he's going to protect her, she has to let him know when she's hurting, and why. The best choice of action is probably to question her.
Maybe she'll give up in hiding whatever it is she's hiding from him.
"Are you okay? You don't have to hide anything from me, you know."
He wouldn't call her his friend. Not out loud, anyway. He'll just hint it to her, that's all she really needs, right? People naturally assume stuff like that, so she probably doesn't need him to tell her he's her 'friend'.
"Y-yeah! It's nothing, I promise, just...thinking."
She was once again, clearly lying, but at this point he decided it was useless to attempt to pry more.
suddenly, he felt his ears flatten against his head, a low growl emitted from the half-fox boy.
someone was here.
someone other than them.
Fundy's natural instincts kicking in, he scanned the area around him in search of this mystery person.
was it the DreamTeam? An ally? An unknown enemy?
whoever it was, he was ready to attack.
he had to protect Y/N, after all.
turning around swiftly, he quickly relaxed at seeing the man who was pretty much his second dad.
the better "dad".
Philza
"Fundy? What are you doing out here? You know how close this is to neutral territory."
Fundy took a quick glance at the girl beside him, seeing her confused face with a hint of worry (most probably due to him growling seconds prior).
he attempted to give her a comforting look, but it was something he'd never done before so he had no clue whether it actually looked comforting.

THE "comforting" look Fundy gave her did not look comforting at all.
The only reason Philza could even tell it was supposed to be comforting was because of how long the two had known each other, and obviously Fundy needed work on his "nice" facial expressions.
she seemed to understand what he was trying to portray, though, as she relaxed a bit.
awaiting an answer, Philza gave Fundy a look that said "answer already, I'm waiting".
The half-fox boy looked panicked for a second, as he was clearly running through what to say before nervously spitting it out.
"Y/N wanted to show me something, and it just happened to be near neutral territory.."
Y/N? Was that the girl? She must be the newbie he had mentioned meeting the other day.
Fundy didn't seem fond of the girl when he had first mentioned her, but seeing how they interacted it seemed like that had changed.
Turning to the girl, he spoke in a friendly tone.
"I'm Philza, you can call me Phil, though."
He introduced himself. She seemed nice enough, and harmless, although he felt like he'd seen her before.
"My names Y/N...its nice to meet you.."
She awkwardly smiled at the older man.
That was it.
He recalled Techno showing him a photo of this girl a while back. Something about bringing her onto Dream's land, so that he could come back later for her.
and,
Didn't Techno have some sort of infatuation with her?

hi...
it's Akii-Chan here...
if you saw my announcement last week, you would've already known that I couldn't finish last weeks chapter and that I would release it early this week, so here it is!
to make up for that, I released this chapter early,,,, i may try to get in a oneshot (that has nothing to do with the canon storyline for this book; its completely optional) for this weekends release but there's no guarantee :')))
Wilbur couldn't make it into this chapter, so you don't get to see the results of your choice just yet, but trust me-
you probably weren't thinking of how the stats were going to be affected.
lets hope you didn't mess up too badly :)
