Morgana's beady green-brown eyes scanned the courtyard expectantly, searching for something- ANYTHING- which indicated a sign that her faithful maidservant was safe. Her heart sank.

In the blink of an eye, Camelot's bustling marketplace had become a deserted graveyard. The eerie silence reminded Morgana all too much of the deadly plague which had struck Camelot only last year- and which  had nearly led to the untimely death of Gwen. If anything had happened to her now, then Morgana would never forgive herself. But, what could she do?

There was only one answer to that question- and no-one could stop her from what she was about to do.

Without hesitation, Morgana dashed towards the bedroom door and- stopped. It wasn't Uther's voice or Gwen's footsteps echoing like pattering raindrops outside her door that made her pause, but a blinding flash which illuminated the room. In the same moment, a fierce whirlwind whipped through the window and Morgana found herself being flung backwards. Hardly did she have time to gasp before  her head struck the floor.

Darkness invaded Morgana's  vision. For a moment, she lay on the floor as if she was dead.
