I'm going to start off by saying, sorry for the late chapter and how short it is. It's been pretty rough for me because of the stress I'm constantly trying to get away from.

Also, a bit of a warning: If you have arachnophobia or an intense scare for spiders, be aware, there is a scene.

Weeks after Jack's capture and Charlotte's recovery, Lion was sitting soundly in the middle of the apartment. A chair centered perfectly in the open space with Lion comfortably seated. Lion reminisced on the previous events and the discovery he had made about his father. It only drove him to curiosity and wanting, wanting to know more about Jack's subject. Unfortunately, Elijah had gone to work before he could ask him anything, and so Lion stayed sulking on his chair and waiting for the man to come home. Childish. But Lion needed answers. Lion knew his mother could not give him all the answers he'd need.

Lion looked up at the pearly white ceiling with folded arms and crossed legs and closed his eyes. Nothing but flashbacks of Donavan would cross his mind. Lion thought he had gotten rid of this negative memory, but all he could think of was the dangerous things Jack did, and Donovan pursued.

Soon enough, Lion's phone rang. His calming ringtone was cutting the silence of the apartment, "hello." Lion answered as he pressed his phone to his ear.

"Hi. Is this Aleksander Meyer?" A deep and gruff voice spoke through the phone.

All Lion could think of was the bad things that could happen to him, but with a shaky voice, he replied, "y-yes."

"Jackson Harlow would like to speak with you at the visiting court tomorrow afternoon." Lion sighed through the phone, making the person aware of how he felt, "if you dislike this recommendation, I can tell Jackson that you are not willing."

Lion's breath hitched, and his hands were shaky. He didn't know why his body was reacting this way, "I'll go. But I would like Shawn or Elijah to be there with me." Lion was dangerously close to admitting his fear to the person on the other end of the line, his hands sweaty.

"Alright, Mr. Meyer, I will schedule your appointment with Jackson Harlow for 2 P.M tomorrow." Lion must have forgotten he needed to speak as all he could do was silently nod, "sir?"

Lion snapped out of his daze before finding the confidence to mumble a 'yes' through the phone. He didn't know what was coming over him. Lion was usually able to speak with anyone without stuttering to death.

"Alright, and Shawn will accompany you since Elijah Colm is on duty tomorrow." The deep voice persisted in vibrating in Lion's sensitive ear.

"Okay, thank you." Lion answered before the man hung up the phone and left Lion in his silent thinking.

Lion looked around him and placed his phone against his thigh. The boy breathed in and out, regaining his breathing. Once again, Lion questioned why he had reacted the way he did.

Was it because of all the times he had been called with that same monotone voice? Lion did not know.

The boy stood from his seat and moved his chair back to its place before he looked over at Natalia's princess collection, still sitting perfectly in the same glass armoire. Lion remembered the first day he had arrived at Elijah's apartment. Since that day, he dreaded his scared ambiance and wished he could have reacted differently to the man's kind gestures. Lion was always a scaredy-cat when it came down to meeting new people or visiting family.

"Elijah, for the last time, I'm going with Lion to the prison. You're going to end up killing Jackson." Shawn sighed and rubbed his temple as he watched Elijah move around his office like a caged animal, "will you sit down? You're giving me a massive headache."
