"Welcome back, Agent Colm." People said, seeing that Elijah was now back to work and was feeling better than usual.
Elijah was slowly recovering from his wound and able to work. He knew Shawn wouldn't be too happy about it, but Elijah loved his job, and he needed to find Crystal Bennet before it was too late. The man walked around his desk, sipping his usual morning coffee and keeping an eye out for the new police recruits that had recently joined. He would peek a look at the donut box that rested on a counter in the kitchen, tempted to eat one, but he knew it would only make him feel sick. He ate too many donuts when he became a police officer. A large hand rested on Elijah's shoulder, forcing him to look over his shoulder to come face to face with a grumpy Shawn, "well, you, look like you woke up on the wrong side of the bed." Elijah chuckled, placing his coffee on his desk and turning towards Shawn, who reluctantly groaned at Elijah's comment.
"Unlike you, I was researching Crystal Bennet's whereabouts all night." Shawn replicated, slapping a pile of papers onto Elijah's desk, "I found out she was staying at the same Hotel Donovan was. She moved to Earl Street Hotel not long after the incident with Frank." Shawn explained, pulling out a small card from his uniform pocket and handing it to Elijah, "this is the address and coordinations for the place. I read up on her. She used to work as a full-time therapist in Alberta, Vancouver. She was licensed for five years before she was fired. I suspect she pulled the same stunt she did with Lion." Shawn sighed, leaning up against Elijah's desk, "I found a few text messages between her and Donovan on the phone one of the ladies found at the crime scene. They were talking about a seven hundred dollar paycheck for Crystal's assistance in bringing Lion to jail. They wanted the kid out of their way to make sure he wouldn't tell us about what happened. Luckily, you talked to Lion, and we know Lion isn't the culprit."
Elijah read over the small card, placing it in his pocket and locking gazes with Shawn's, "Lion was falsely accused, we both have proof... Now it's how you want to approach this situation, you want me to arrest her and bring her in for interrogation, or we go in there together and make sure it's not just another trap?" Elijah crossed his arms over his chest, both of the men deep in thought.
If Elijah were to go alone on this arrest, the chances of her being alone are minimal. Elijah was deep in thought, his finger tapping his forearm. If Shawn came with him, it would be less dangerous, but he would have come along for no reason if she's alone. The more Elijah thought into this, the more time they wasted.
"Come with me; we'll have Shel take over here at the office." Elijah spoke, "one thing I've learned from you; it's best not to take any chances when it comes to not knowing the consequences." Shawn stayed surprised when Elijah finally agreed with him, a smug face appearing, giddy of having been right once again, "don't push it cause I'll send you to Donovan myself."
"You wouldn't do that." Shawn followed behind Elijah, his expression changing into worry, "would you?"
Elijah chuckled deeply, opening the door for his boss, stepping aside and letting Shawn pass, "don't jinx it." He said jokingly, following behind Shawn.
Shawn sighed as he stopped beside his car, unlocking the doors, "I'd get your ass bit if you did such a thing to your poor old friend." The men sat in the car, laughing together, "I'll send a text to Shel as soon as we get our breakfast." Shawn spoke, calming his laughter.
Elijah nodded, taking the small card out of his pocket and reading over it; the faster we get this done, the quicker Lion will be free.
