A/n: Andy and Robert are married but nobody knows.

Tw: mention of abusive relationship

Maya's pov
We all watched from a distance as Andy broke down crying in the beanery. None of knew what was going on, why she was so upset. She was really worked up, to the point where it looks like she's about to have a panic attack.
"Come on, let's at least try and help her," I said, and everyone else agreed with me. I walked into the beanery, and the rest of the team followed behind me.
"Andy, hey, you need to breathe. What's wrong?" Vic asked, putting a hand on Andy's shoulder. Andy flinched at the touch, and took a step backwards.
I'd seen Andy upset before, but never this bad, so I knew that whatever is bothering her must be bad.
Andy walked backwards a few steps until she was backed into the corner, and then slid down to a sitting position. I didn't know what to say or do to help her, and I could tell nobody else did either.
After a few moments of silence, except from the sound of Andy crying and hyperventilating, Travis crouched down in front of her.
"Andy, what do you need?" He asked, his voice soft and quiet. She looked up at him, tears still streaming down her face.
"R-Robert," she stuttered, struggling to catch her breath long enough to speak.
"Robert? As in Sullivan? Why on earth would she want to see him of all people?" Jack said in disbelief. I glared at him, angry that he was questioning that now. I was confused too, but Andy clearly didn't need us bombarding her with questions right now.
"Ben, Sullivan's in a meeting with Dixon in his office. Go and get him, tell him it's important," I ordered.
"Hey Andy, I need you to try and calm down a bit. Can you tell us what's wrong?" I asked, trying to put my arm on her shoulder, but once again she flinched away.
"R-Robert... I need Robert," she stuttered again.
"Ben's gone to get him," I reassured her, looking up and making eye contact with Vic.
She looked just as concerned as I felt.

Robert's pov
I was in my weekly meeting with Chief Dixon, when Warren burst in, not even knocking. I glanced over at Dixon, and saw him raising his eyebrows slightly.
"Warren, we're in the middle of a meeting," he said.
"I know, and I'm sorry for bursting in like this, but we need you in the beanery Sullivan," he said.
"Can't it wait? We won't be anymore than ten more minutes," I responded.
"No. Sir. It's Herrera," he said, and I felt a pit of fear in my stomach.
"What's happened? Is she okay?" I asked, trying not to let my panic show too much. Nobody knew that we're married, so I couldn't give that away now.
"Um... not really. We don't know what's wrong, but it looks like she's having a panic attack. And she keeps asking for you sir, for some reason," Warren explained.
I pushed my chair back, and stood up, completely forgetting about the meeting. I rushed to the beanery, and I heard Warren and probably Dixon following close behind me.
When I walked in, I saw Andy sat in the corner, crying and hyperventilating. She'd had panic attacks in front of me before, but not many as bad as this. Not caring who could see, I pushed my way past the team, and crouched down in front of Andy.
"Chief, I wouldn't. She keeps getting really jumpy anytime anyone touches her," Bishop warned me, but I ignored her.
I put a hand on each of Andy's shoulders, and as I had guessed would happen, she didn't even flinch. Instead, she looked up at me with tears rolling down her cheeks, and I used my thumb to wipe a few of them away. The fear and sadness in her eyes broke my heart, especially knowing most of what Andy's been through.
"I-I saw him, he was there," she said in between sobs.
"Where? Where was he?" I asked, knowing exactly who she was talking about. Carl. He was her ex, he used to beat her, one time so bad she nearly died. Andy had reported him to the police eventually, but they didn't believe her. It made me angry, that anyone could ever do something like that to anyone, but especially to someone as amazing, and kind, and perfect as Andy.
"On the aid car call... he was- he was watching me," she choked out, still struggling to speak because of the panic attack.
I sat down completely, and pulled Andy onto my lap. I wrapped my arms around her, holding her tight, and she clung onto my shirt.
Everyone was watching us, confused about what was going on. They didn't know who we were talking about, or what was going on between Andy and I.
Knowing that Andy wouldn't want the attention right now, I picked her up, and carried her bridal style to my office. I closed the door behind us, locking it, and pulled down the blinds. Then I sat down on my chair, still holding Andy, and did everything I could to make sure she knew that I was here for her, that she was safe with me.
For a while longer, Andy cried onto my chest, and I comforted her as best as I could. When she calmed down a little, and was breathing more normally, she looked up at me, and I cupped her hand with my face.
"It was him... I'd recognise him anywhere. He was just watching me from across the street," Andy told me, and I knew how scared she must of been, how scared she probably still is.
"I've got you, you're safe now. I'll make sure he doesn't come anywhere near you ever again," I said, pulling her closer to my chest.
"But... what if he does? While I'm on a call, or going to the store, what if he does? And it's not like the police will do anything, they didn't even believe me before..." Andy said, her voice breaking as she started to cry again.
I stroked her hair gently in an attempt to sooth her, and was about to say something when there was a knock on the door. I felt Andy flinch at the noise, so I pressed a light kiss to the top of her head.
"Hey it's okay, it's probably just one of the others wanting to see how you are," I whispered. Slowly, I moved Andy off my lap and stood up. She stayed sat in my chair as I went and opened the door.
"I'm sorry to interrupt Chief, but there's someone in the lobby wanting to see Andy," Montgomery said. I looked back at Andy, and saw the fear on her face.
"Come in, close the door behind you," I said to Montgomery, and he did as I told him, a little uncomfortably.
I walked the few steps back to Andy and held her face in my hands.
"Stay here, I'll go and see who it is, it could just be an old friend or someone you treated on a call. It's going to be okay," I said quietly.
Andy nodded, putting on a brave face despite how scared I knew she was. I kissed her softly, and then turned to Montgomery, who looked very shocked and confused.
"You can't tell anyone anything about what you saw, do you understand?" I said, using my strict Chief voice.
"Yes sir, I promise I won't tell anyone," he said.
"Okay, good. I need you to stay with Andy until I get back. Don't leave her side, even if there's a call, and don't let anyone else in, got it?" I ordered, my voice less harsh now.
"Yes chief," he said, and I nodded gratefully. I looked back at Andy one more time, and then headed downstairs. I could see everyone, including Dixon, watching me come out the office, but I didn't acknowledge them. Instead, I just went straight down to the lobby.
I was really hoping that what I'd said to Andy was true, that it was just an old friend or someone she's saved on a call. However, when I got there, I saw that that was not the case. I hadn't met him before, but I still knew it was him.
"What the hell are you doing here?" I said angrily, and Carl looked up at me.
"Who are you? I want to see Andy Herrera," he said.
"Well that's tough, because you're not seeing her, not ever again. Now you better leave right now or you're going to regret it," I snapped.
"You can't make me," he laughed. "And how many more times do I have to ask to see Andy before someone gets her."
"It doesn't matter how many times you ask, like I already said, you're not going to see her," I said, getting even angrier. After what he's done to Andy, everything he's put her through, there is no way in hell that I am letting him anywhere near her.
"Then I'll just have to go and find her myself," he responded, trying to make his way further into the station.
"You take one more step, and I'll smash your face in," I shouted, shoving him backwards.
"What the hell is going on?!" I heard Dixon say, and I turned to see him and the whole team, except Andy and Montgomery, stood behind me.
"What's going on is this dudes got anger issues. Plus he won't let me see Andy," Carl said, and I was about to shout at him again, when Dixon spoke up.
"Sullivan, is there a problem, or can I send someone to go and get Herrera?" Dixon asked.
"Yes, finally, somebody nice around here. I say the second option, someone go get Herrera," Carl laughed, and if I didn't already know, I would be sure by now that he was either drunk, high, or both.
Not thinking about what I was doing, I turned around and punched him in the face. Within seconds, he was fighting back, and everyone else was trying to separate us.
I punched him again, and again, and again. He punched me too, but I barely felt it through the anger. All I wanted to do was make him pay for what he did to Andy.
Eventually, the team pulled us apart, and I stood there, glaring at him.
"Somebody call the police and get him put away. If they want to know why, tell them to look at previous accusations. And if they still don't believe them, tell them he assaulted a firefighter," I ordered, before turning and walking back up to my office.
When I walked in, Andy and Montgomery both looked up at me.
"Robert? What happened? You're bleeding," she said, standing up. She'd stopped crying now, and was breathing normally, but she still looked terrified.
"I'm fine. Are you okay?" I answered.
"Yes, who was it? We could hear you shouting from up here," Andy asked. I took a deep breath, and walked closer to her, taking her hands in mine.
"It was Carl. But I told them to call the police, and this time I'll make sure he doesn't get away," I told her, and I felt her tense up at his name. "He can't hurt you anymore Andy, I promise."
"I'm going to go now, let you two be alone," Montgomery said, and I nodded.
I led Andy to my bunk slowly, and we laid down. She leant into me, and I held her tight, not ever wanting to let go.
