Andy's pov
I was acting captain while Maya was staying off with Carina, but it wasn't really like I expected it to be. For one thing, I expected a different reaction from Robert when I told him. I understand how hard being demoted was for him, but he knows how much the captains role means to me, even if it is just for a week.
We've had one call so far today, and it was kind of amusing to say the least. There was a cult, and their leader seemed to think he could fly. Obviously, he couldn't, but the airbag we set up saved him, so he was okay physically. I don't think I could say the same for mentally, but that had nothing to do with the fall.
When we got back from the call, I was finishing a report when Robert came over. We sort of talked, but it was a little strange. Robert was trying to talk to me as his wife, not his captain, but I wanted to keep it professional at work. That's already proving to be harder than I thought it would be.
Now, I was sat in the captains office, doing even more paperwork. It was the middle of the night, but both myself and the rest of the team were still up.
I was trying my best to concentrate on the paperwork, but my mind kept wandering. All I could think about was Robert. I'd been trying to keep things profesional at work all day, but all I really wanted was to be with him.
Giving up, I walked over to the door and opened it slightly.
"Sullivan, my office," I shouted, before going back in to wait for him. A few seconds later, there was a knock on the door, so I called for him to come in.
"You wanted to see me Captain?" He asked, clearly trying to respect that I wanted to keep things professional at work. Except that wasn't what I wanted anymore.
I walked over and pulled the blinds closed. Then, I kissed him.
"Thought you wanted to keep it professional at work," Robert commented, putting his hand on my back.
"I did, but I suppose breaking the rules once or twice won't hurt," I whispered, and we started to kiss again.Vic's pov
Me, Sullivan and Travis were cleaning the engine when Andy called Sullivan into her office. I thought nothing of it to start with, it was probably just to do with a call or something. Sometimes I forget that they're married, because they always try to stay professional at work, minus a few times.
Travis and I finished cleaning the engine, and went to go and make an early breakfast. Sullivan still hadn't come back, and everyone else was doing other chores or sleeping, so the beanery was empty.
"A name, that's all I'm asking for, just a name," Travis begged for what felt like the millionth time today.
"No, I told you we're not even really together," I said and he looked at me sceptically.
"Are you sure? Because that's what Andy and Sullivan said to start with, and Jack and Inara, and now look at them," he said and I laughed.
"He bought me flowers, and we're meeting up on Wednesday after we've both been tested. That's all I'm saying," I said, and went to get some bacon out of the fridge.
"Ooo okay, that's good. Where you going?" Travis asked, still wanting more details.
"I don't know yet. Anyway, what about you and Emmett, what's it like having him round the station more often doing testing?" I asked, purposely changing the subject.
"What about me and Emmett? There's nothing to say, we're friends. Anything else between us ended a long time ago," Travis said, cracking an egg against the pan.
When we finished cooking breakfast, we called the team, and they all came. All of them except Andy and Sullivan.
"I think they're still in her office, I'll go and get them," I said, walking out of the beanery.
I noticed that the blinds were closed, but still didn't think anything of it. I should've done.
I knocked, but I got no response, so I tried shouting for Andy. When she still didn't reply, I opened the door and peered around it into the office.
That's when I realised what Andy really called Sullivan into her office for. She was laid on her desk, everything that was on it before pushed to the floor, and he was on top of her, both of them naked. I instantly slammed the door shut, not wanting to see anymore than I already had.
I ran back up to the beanery, a disgusted look on my face.
"You okay Hughes?" Dean asked, and everyone looked up at me.
"No, no I'm not. I don't care if you have to run me over with the engine, I'd do anything to wipe what I just saw from my brain," I muttered, slapping my head with my hand.
They all started laughing, but before they actually said anything, Andy ran into the room, tucking her shirt in as she did. A few seconds later, Sullivan followed, both of them looking awkward.
"Nope. No. Not looking at either of you ever again," I said, turning away to make my point.
"Vic, we're sorry, we thought we'd locked the door," Andy said, but I could tell she was trying not to laugh.
"Ugh," I said, as I sat down, and hit my head down on the table.
"Okay, pay up guys," Travis said, and everyone started handing money around the table to each other. Without lifting my head off the table, I held my hand out and soon felt some money being pressed into it.
"Hold on... you didn't?!" Sullivan said.
"You guys better not of bet about us... hold on what were you betting on exactly?" Andy asked, and I looked up to see everyone else trying not to laugh too.
"Um... whether you two ever hooked up in the station," Travis admitted and I slapped his arm for giving in so easier.
"Just for the record, that's actually only the second time we've properly hooked up in the station. The other time though, we..." Andy started, but Sullivan cut her off.
"Andy! They don't need to know the details!" He said defensively, and she laughed, wrapping her arms around his waist.
"Oh and someone might want to tell Maya that she should get a new desk when she gets back... or at least disinfect that one," I commented.
