Christmas came all too soon.
"Oh, no. No studying today." Fred and George apparated into her room."But I leave for the contest tomorrow and I'm missing about five years worth of knowledge." She pouted. "I need to study."
"Mum's already upset about Percy disowning us."
"If you hide out all day, you'll be adding to her woe." She thought for a second and closed her books.
"Fine." She opened the parcel her mother had left at the foot of her bed that night and pulled on the yellow and black knitted jumper.
"Come on then, little sister." They dragged her downstairs. "We've got gifts to give you."
"Wait, let me get my gifts for everyone." She grabbed a box under her bed. She pulled out a small pad and handed it to them. They looked suspiciously. "Just open it."
"Your hourglass alarm spell."
"And three handmade coupons?"
"You get to ask three things of me and I'll have to help you. As long as it's not to be a test dummy for your products. If you need help with a spell or brewing a potion or free labour when you open up your shop one day. But you only get to use those coupons on three occasions. One cannot be used for more than one instance." The twins looked at each other. "Don't make me regret it."
"We will." They smirked and disapparated. She rolled her eyes but left the room to hunt down her sister.
"Ginny!" She said. She took a smaller box out of the big one she was holding.
"Hey. Ooh, it's a gift." Her eyes lit up.
"Yeah, open it." Ginny tore off the wrapping. On top were three VIP tickets to the Holyhead Harpies' next game the coming summer. "I must have gotten that before losing my memories. The passes get you through to meet the team, including Gwenog Jones."
"But that must've been a fortune."
"I don't know. I don't remember how I got it. For all I know I won it off the radio."
"I love it!" Ginny threw her arms around her sister.
"I'm glad but there's more." Ginny looked in the box and saw a bottle. "I'm calling it everlasting passion. Perfumes always have weird names like that."
"You made this?" Ginny took a small sniff.
"I have some plants in a greenhouse seal in my trunk and I just wanted to practice." She said, bashfully. "What do you think?"
"Smells fruity." She took another sniff. "I love it. Loads better than what I got you."
"It's not a competition. It's the thought that counts. At least I'm hoping. Everything I got is homemade."
"The tickets-"
"They don't count. For all I know, I stole them." Ginny grinned.
"You didn't, and we both know it. Wait right here." Ginny ran up to their room and got her own gift for Alexandra. She came back down with a notebook.
"Considering I destroyed the ones I do have, this is a great gift!" She told her sister.
"It's not what you think." Ginny explained. "I know you think you must've been horrible before, but you weren't. So, in there are some explanations of things that have happened over the past few years and some of the good things you've done. For me, and for the people around you. You helped me a lot, especially after second year. I was really sad, it's all in there, but if it weren't for you I would have gone insane. And even if you don't get your memories back, I think it's really important that you know."
It was Alexandra's turn to hug her sister tightly. "I love it." She said softly. "It's incredibly thoughtful." Ginny grinned widely.
"I want to come with you when you give out other gifts." Alexandra smiled.
"Okay, next stop- mum."
"I didn't know what to get mum so I made her a dumb card." She said.
"You can piggy back off my gift." Alexandra said.
"Really?"
"Yeah, of course."
They marched into the kitchen where Molly stood, hand washing a pile of dishes with puffy red eyes. She looked up at her daughters when she saw them and put on a brave smile.
"Hello, dears.""Hi mum. We got you a gift." Alexandra started.
"That's not necessary." She said.
"We wanted to." She assured. She rummaged and pulled out a soft package and handed it to Ginny who gave it to their mum. Molly wiped her hands on her apron before opening it. Inside was a knitted jumper, just like the rest of her children had, with a big 'M' knitted in the middle. It wasn't the prettiest of jumpers, but Molly started tearing up. "You always make sure we've got one but you always forget one for yourself. So we tried to teach ourselves to make it for you." She took off her apron and pulled it on.
"It's wonderful." She said. "And fits like a glove."
"We love you." Ginny said and Molly smiled, pulling both her daughters in for a hug. She pressed a kiss to the top of both of their heads and squeezed them once more before letting go.
"We've got to go give out some more presents. Can we bake some cookies for dad after though?" Alexandra asked and Molly nodded, brightening up. She sent her mother a smile and ran out of the kitchen.
"I reckon she's already forgotten about Percy. How did you do that so easily?"
"We never really pay much attention to her. We all take her for granted all the time." Alexandra said. "I didn't realise how much until I saw how much it meant to her that I'm nice to her as opposed to how I must've been with my memories intact."
"It couldn't have taken you that quick to knit the jumper."
"No, I found it in my trunk last month. It wasn't finished but I tried to pick up where I left off."
"See? You're still you, with or without your memories." Alexandra smiled. "Who's next?"
"Ron, Hermione and Harry." Ginny nodded.
"Okay, let's go find them."
A/N- yeah, okay, Alex and Alexandra are super cute 🥺
Favourite line is "For all I know, I stole them."
