As they walked in, an almost eerie feeling passed over Dream. The feeling was almost nostalgic to him. Odd feelings like this had been normal to him, he felt them all his life. He had pretty good intuition, so he knew when something bad was about to happen. This was one of those times. He chose to let it go just because of how happy he was feeling. That was a mistake.
To the left, there was a large staircase leading to the top floor. To the right, there was a small kitchen with many broken shelves. And right in front of them was a broken TV that sat in front of a large couch. Something about it wasn't right. Something bad had happened here, and Dream knew it. Why was he feeling so weird? What had happened in this place?
Sapnap walked to the left and up the stairs, avoiding the nails and broken steps. George and Dream followed close behind. "Dream, are you alright?" The British voice rang through his ears. "Hm? Yeah, yeah. I'm fine." George made an angry face at the taller boy. "Dream." Dream sighed in defeat. "Right. Um, to be honest, I feel a bit off. Like something is wrong. Don't get me wrong, I'm extremely happy to be here but something is just wrong." George simply hummed in response, pulling the blonde close into a hug. Dream started to pull away because of the suddenness of his actions but hugged back seconds later.
George had always had trouble expressing emotions but it seemed like that was different now. Maybe George was finally opening up. Maybe it was because George- no. Dream couldn't think that. Gross. That was his best friend for God's sake. His eyes narrowed and his nose wrinkled, showing a sign of disgust. "Dream? You alright?" He shook his head, snapping out of his mind. "Uh yeah, yup. I'm great." George nodded, hugging Dream once again as they continued walking. Dream grabbed his earbuds and stuck them into his ears as he plugged them into his phone. He clicked on his favorite song: After Dark by Mr. Kitty.
♫ I see you, you see me. How pleasant, this feeling ♫
He walked up the stairs, George by his side. A bone-chilling noise stung their ears. Sirens. Police sirens. "Sapnap. Is it illegal to be here?" George's face turned pale as Sapnap opened his mouth to speak. "Um. Shit, yes. It is. It's an old famous person's house, but nobody comes here. I used to come here every time I visited Florida when I was little. I didn't think that-" George interrupted his friend. "Whatever, let's just get out of here." They all nodded and began to run.
♫ The moment you hold me. I missed you, I'm sorry. ♫
The three threw themselves down the stairs as if in slow motion. They ran out the door, passing right by the cops. Adrenaline coursed through their veins, sweat trickling down the backs of their necks. The police screamed at them as they quickly got into their cars, attempting to chase them down.
♫ I missed you, I'm sorry. ♫
Dream was terrified but the more he ran, the better he felt.
♫ I've given what I have. I showed you I'm growing. ♫
It was thrilling.
♫ The ashes fall slowly as your voice consoles me. ♫
It was fun.
♫ As the hours pass, I will let you know that I need to ask before I'm alone. ♫
The fact that he didn't know if he was going to make it out safely gave him so much adrenaline.
♫ How it feels to rest on your patient lips, to eternal bliss, I'm so glad to know. ♫
Cold air bit into his lungs and each breath felt like knives.
♫ We're swaying to drum beats. In motion, I'm feeling. ♫
His entire body felt numb as his gut wrenched, his heart pumped, and his feet pounded against the concrete.
♫ The patience controlling the question, I won't speak. We're telling the stories. ♫
He was free.
♫ We're leaving, we're talking. You're closer, it's calming. ♫
A/N: This chapter was shorter than what I normally write but I still liked it. It's really cool reading the story while listening to After Dark by Mr. Kitty. Anyways, I hope you enjoyed it!
