I woke up the next day to my alarm ringing. I groaned and pulled my pillow over my head. Me and Sam had to get up extra early so we could go speak with Optimus. Bumblebee had told us the day before that we had a twenty minute drive each way to where Optimus wanted to meet us. Luckily, we started a bit later today, since it was our first day. Giving myself a few minutes to wake up, I eventually got up and started dressing. I noticed Alice wasn't in her bed, 'Hm, strange. I hope she's okay.' I thought, brushing my teeth. Once I was finally done, I went over to Sam's dorm room and knocked. He walked out with a tired "Morning." and we went to meet up with Bee.

We walked down the stairs and out to the parking lot where Bee was waiting. we got in, me on the driver's and Sam in the passenger's. As we drove, we all just stayed quiet, but one thing was bothering me. After about ten minutes of contemplating whether or not I, I decided to speak up. "So, when are you going to tell Mikaela about yesterday?", I looked over at Sam and he stiffened. "I- uhm, I wasn't." He mumbled. "Sam, you need to tell her. She's your girlfriend.." I sighed, hitting my head on the steering wheel. "I know, but I don't want her to get the wrong idea." Sam said. "Yeah, right." I grumbled, looking over at him. "If you don't tell her, I will." I threatened, looking back onto the road.

We finally arrived at our destination, which seemed to be a graveyard. Bumblebee drove a bit further in and we finally spotted Optimus. Bee stopped and we got out. "You won't give us a day, huh?" Sam immediately complained. Optimus looked down at us as we climbed onto the little grass field with graves on it, making sure not to step on any markers. "You won't give us one day in college?" Sam repeated. "I'm sorry, Sam, (Y/N), but the last fragment of the AllSpark was stolen." Optimus explained. I brows furrowed, "Like what? Like Decepticon's stole it?" I asked worried. Optimus sighed, "We placed it under human protection at your government's request, but I am here for your help. Because your leaders believe we brought vengeance upon your planet. Perhaps they are right." He paused, looking out on the road, "That is why they must be reminded by another human of the trust we share." He continued, looking down at us. I smiled comfortingly at Optimus.

"This isn't our war." Sam responded and I snapped my head over to him. "Sam, we have to help them." I said, shocked. "They've done so much for us. The least we could do is remind others of what they have done." I argued. "This still isn't our fight, (Y/N)." Sam sighed. "Not yet, but I fear it soon will be." Optimus spoke up again. "Your world must not share the same fate as Cybertron. Whole generations lost." Optimus explained, pain clear in his optics. I frowned, looking over at Sam. There wasn't a question in my mind about what was the right choice, but I knew I would need him. "I know, and I want to help you, I do, we both do, but we are not some alien ambassadors, you know?" Sam stepped over to me and put his hand on my shoulder. "We're normal kids with normal problems. We are where we're supposed to be." Sam said. "Sam, we can't just give up on the now." I mumbled, looking him in the eyes, silently begging him to help them and to help me. Sam sighed, "I'm sorry. I... I really am." Sam apologized, walking back to Bee. I turned to Optimus, I didn't want to leave. I had promised them that I would help them, no matter what. They were my friends. "Sam, fate rarely calls upon us at a moment of our choosing." Optimus spoke, looking down at Sam. "You're Optimus Prime. You don't need us." Sam argued, about to get in the car. Optimus looked down at me, "We do, more than you know."

I heard the door close shut and I looked up at Optimus, determination in my eyes. "I'm with you. And, I will do what I can to get Sam to open his eyes." Optimus smiled at me. "Thank you, (Y/N). You honor your promise. We are all grateful for it." I nodded and started walking to Bee. "Give me a few days, if you can. I'll talk to Sam." I looked at Optimus one last time, smiling. He nodded and turned to walk away.

It was dead silent on our way back. I knew if I was going to convince Sam to help, I would have to give him time to think about it. To think about every possibility that could happen, good and bad. But I knew for sure that I would help them, with or without Sam. I had promised them I would help them and I wasn't planning on breaking that promise.
