With Grayson heading out, Malcolm and Tom followed him as he left the Marconi dorm.

"I guess we'll pick this up over the weekend." Malcolm checked his phone. "I guess let me know uh, whenever that is."

"Yeah." Grayson nodded, glancing back at him as they let the house. Out of everything he had just learned, the thought of Serena and Malcolm confused him the most.

As he walked across the darkened campus he had to stop himself from laughing more than once. Fish people he could handle, but Serena dating Malcolm. How did that even start?

'You know that girl Serena? From that pack meeting we had at the beginning of the semester?'

Grayson stopped in his tracks.

Turning he saw Tom standing a distance away from him.

"I..." Tom seemed spooked by his sudden halt. "I said I'm going to the mess hall."

"He said pack meeting," Grayson responded as if he had not heard a word Tom had said. "He said you guys met at the pack meeting."
"Yeah?" Tom gripped the strap of his messenger bag. "So?"

"It was like, orientation, right?" Grayson's gaze narrowed. "Who else was there?"

Not following his train of thought, Tom answered. "Just Malcolm, Me, Her, Ashley and..." His voice trailed off.

Under the soft lamplight, Grayson saw something flicker in Tom's eyes. Tom's shoulders hunched as he inhaled. "He's here."
"What?" Grayson asked.

"Heyyyy!"

At the sound of Hunter's voice Grayson whipped back around.

There he was, just a few feet away, looking out of breath and glad to see them.

Grayson didn't move.

Tom's shoulders sagged. "Well, that's anti-climatic." He moved to continue on towards the green building.

"Wait." Grayson looked back at Tom again. His tone implied it wasn't a suggestion,

Hunter continued along the path towards them.

As he reached the, He heaved a heavy sigh. "Okay, so false alarm on the jail thing. For now. Sorry if I--" He lowered his sunglasses. Grayson didn't look happy to see him. "What's wrong?"

"Why did you lie to me?" Grayson asked.

Hunter stared at Grayson as if he had grown a tail.

"What? I never lied to--Ahhhh." Hunter gave Tom an accusatory stare. "You told him about the Bat people, didn't you!" Hunter shook his head, turning his attention back to Grayson. "I bet you'll have a fun time trying to sleep after that. Okay, so maybe I should have said something but sometimes you're just better off not knowing about--"

"I'm talking about Serena!" Grayson snapped, startling him. "Why didn't you tell me what she was!?"

Hunter was at a loss for words.

Grayson wasn't. "You knew this whole time and you didn't say anything!"

"What the... Are you kidding me!?" The lack of sleep was catching up with him. "I didn't even wanna tell you what I was!" Hunter snapped back. "You think I was worried about your girlfriend?"

Tom, who had been taking silent steps to move away from them, spoke up. "You're dating your cousin?" He asked, giving Grayson an incredulous stare.

"She's not--" Grayson huffed. "Ugh..."

Hunter shook his head. "Not now Tom."

"So when were you going to say something about her?" Grayson asked, his voice rising. "Or what, you were just never going to tell me anything!?"
