Natsu had fallen asleep on Hinata's shoulders by the time they arrived at the store, her head resting against the ginger's. He took the earbuds away and put them in his bag so he could handle her better.
The automatic doors opened for Hinata, inviting him into the store. "Huh? What are you guys doing here?" he questioned, looking at the rest of the volleyball team with wide eyes.
"Oi, Shouyou, you know them?" Ukai, the shop owner asked, putting his cigarette out when his eyes landed on Natsu. "Yeah, they're on the volleyball team." Natsu began stirring at all the noise, alerting the ginger.
"Shh, Shh, Shh. It's okay, you can go back to sleep," he coaxed, bouncing her softly. She mumbled something before tucking her face back into his hair. He let out a sigh.
"She's had a long day. You know, first day back to school and all," he told Ukai, eyeing the team who just stared at him. "Hinata, is that your sister?" Asked Sugawara, taking a sip of his water bottle. "Yep! We look alike, right?"
The ginger stopped in front of the counter. "Can we have the usual, please?" Ukai chuckled while nodding his head. "Here ya go," he said, placing a paper bag full of meat buns on the counter. "You remember the amount?"
Giggling, Hinata ruffled around in his uniform pocket, pulling out 1,100 yen. "Here you go! Have a nice night, Ukai-San!" He grabbed the bag and rolled to the door. "Oh, right." The ginger turned around, a sunny smile on his face. "I'll see you guys tomorrow!"
-----
The alarm Hinata had set blared throughout his room, and he groggily sat up, roughly turning it off. His phone screen read 4:00 am. Since he now has early morning practice for volleyball, he had to get up two hours more than usual to make sure Natsu gets to school on time.
He silently thanked the daycare for being open so early, but this was going to be really hard on him. "Alright, let's do this!"
-----
"Sorry, she's still a little tired," Shouyou said as he handed the sleeping Natsu to the daycare teacher. She chuckled and gently took hold of her. "It's okay. We have a napping place for the students whose parents have to get up early, so this is normal."
Shouyou slowly began to roll off on his skates. "Thank you so much! Have a great day!" He said with a wave and a smile. "And to you as well!"
It was still dark when Hinata left the daycare, meaning he had to go slow if he wanted to avoid falling. Practice started at 6:30 and it would take him about an hour if he were to go slowly. He glanced at his watch for the time. 5:53 am.
Frustrated tears welled in his eyes as he held his fist up threateningly to his wrist with the device on it. He cursed himself for not finding Natsu's pencil case sooner as he picked up his pace. A familiar, steep hill came into the distance, barely lit up enough for him to recognize it.
His skates rolled down it without his help, making him slightly grateful because he still felt like he ate a brick. Suddenly, his skate hit a large rock, and since his attention was elsewhere, he didn't have enough time to get his skates back under his control as he fell forward.
Oh, dear God...
Quickly spinning his body, he lifted his skates off the ground and quickly readjusted his footing in the air, landing safely at the bottom of the hill. He sighed in relief, placing a hand over his heart.
"If I get hurt, I can't carry Natsu or play volleyball!" Hinata yelled to the rock that had tripped him, picking it up and throwing it off the sidewalk with a grunt.
-----
"I'm here, everyone!" The bubbly ginger shouted in the gym as he walked in with his skates in hand. "And I'm 12 minutes early!"
"Hey, Hinata!"
"Glad to see you're early today, Hinata."
Hinata greeted everyone with a smile, heading to the club room with Kageyama, who had arrived just after him.

The energetic ginger had become super close with the rest of his team and everyone looked forward to practicing with the literal personification of the sun.
Currently, they were all changing in the club room. Well, they were supposed to be. "My little kouhai's so cute! Please go out with me! As your senpai, I'll make sure to protect you!" Hinata jumped over one of the benches as Tanaka continued to pursue him.
"Protect me from what!? We're going to be late for practice, Tanaka-Senpai!" The ginger cried, hiding behind Kageyama. "From all the perves in this world! They might take advantage of your pure and angelic body!"
"What!?" Both Kageyama and Hinata shouted. "I-I don't want anyone to take advantage of my body..." Muttered the ginger, wrapping his arms around his waist. Deciding it was time to step in, Sugawara kindly slapped Tanaka on the back of the head with a nearby newspaper.
"No one's going to take advantage of you, Hinata." The silver-haired male smiled, petting the little ginger's curls. Also smiling, Hinata leaned into the touch, purring softly. "Geh!" The men left in the club room gripped at their hearts, struggling to breathe.
"He's-He's like a little kitten," Sugawara said as Hinata slipped his shoes on and left.
-----
As Hinata drank from his water bottle, he noticed the third years talking to each other with a rather grim expression. Smiling his signature smile, he skipped over to them. "What'cha talking about? Why the long faces?"
The mood around them was immediately brightened as Tanaka wrapped an arm around Hinata's shoulders. "Nothing you need to worry about, my little kouhai."
"Are you sure? I can help you guys if you need it! I'm your teammate after all!" The little ginger just continued to smile. "Thanks, Hinata. We'll remember that." Dachi grinned, ruffling up the ginger's already messy hair.
The door to the gym suddenly flew open, making all the occupants of the gym jump in shock. "Takeda-Sensei, what's-"
"I got us a practice match with Aoba Johsai!" The club advisor shouted, holding a bunch of papers and panting as if he had run a marathon. "A practice match!?" The ever-so-lively Hinata shouted, running up to the advisor.
"Oh, you must be Hinata! The one everyone's talking about!" Confusion covered the ginger's face until Kageyama appeared beside him. "Ah, I guess that makes you Kageyama then, right? The talented setter?" Kageyama nodded politely.
"What's this about a practice match, Sensei?" Daichi questioned, gathering everyone near the advisor.
