Jesse *Christmas Eve

It's nearing 8pm and everyone will be arriving soon. All day I've been getting things in order for tonight. It was tradition that we would all pitch in on the family dinner on Christmas eve and then have the food for the following day catered because there would usually be a boat load of family and friends coming. This year, with all that's going on, I took it upon myself to cook this dinner. I made rice and beans, macaroni pie, roasted potatoes and asparagus, a huge whole chicken, a garden salad, Hawaiian rolls, and key lime pie for dessert. Yeah, I cooked up a storm.

I even set up one of my guest rooms for Jade if she decides that she wants to sleep alone. No one uses them but I still washed the sheets so they'd be fresh. I feel like a housewife. Right now, I'm getting dressed before people started coming. The guests on the list are: Jade, Ry, Tammy, Gerald, Maggie and her two kids, some new fling of Ryan's, and Tammy said she might bring someone. Thankfully I made enough food.

The dress code was semi formal. These dinners were always a bit fancier than on the actual Christmas day. Mom wanted it like that, and so it will remain like that until the day I die. And besides, the dining room is set up all elegantly that it's only fitting to dress accordingly.

I heard the bell ring just as I was walking out my room. I quickly ran down the stairs to open the door. It was Ry and his lady friend. "Wassup Bro, Merry Christmas Eve" I greeted him. "Same to you bro. This is Giselle. Gigi this my baby bro Jesse" Ryan introduced us. "Nice to meet you" she said shyly stretching out her hand. I shook her hand giving her a small smile. I give it a week. I let her walk past me and stopped Ryan. "Wassup?" he asked concerned. "She's cute. Serious or nah?" I asked and he smiled that idiotic smile of his when he's blushing, and that told me all I needed to know. "Don't jinx it" he said shooing me and I couldn't help but laugh.

"Y'all can make yourselves comfortable in the living room, we're still waiting for others to arrive. Can I get you anything to drink in the mean time?" I asked sounding like I was working for these people. I really need to get some maids in this bitch. "Bro, what are you a maid? I know where your kitchen is" Ryan said mockingly and then walked past me to the kitchen. He made sure to call me stupid as he passed by me, and I elbowed him in his side causing him to keel over. "You foul for that" he groaned in pain. I just smiled wickedly as I walked over to my front door after hearing the bell ring.
