"Falling over the truth
On my shoulders, in a moment
If only you knew
Here something really could happen"
(Coming Of Age – Blondes)

A little smile makes its way into my lips and I turn up the volume on my iPod as one of my favourite songs comes up. I've been in the library for the last hour and a half, listening to some music and sketching a bit since I had the last period free.

Suddenly, the sound of the school bell overpowers the music, indicating the end of classes for the day. I put my stuff away into my bag and run towards my locker so I can meet my best friend.

As I walk down the hallway, I notice he's already putting some books away, given that his locker is next to mine.

"Hey, dork" I use one of the many playful nicknames we've given each other throughout the years.

"Hello, señorita" he smiles and I raise an eyebrow, giving him a funny look.

"Señorita?"

"I just came out of Spanish, I was still feeling it" I roll my eyes at him and smile back.

This is Jonathan Crane. An incredibly smart, tall and skinny fellow with mid-length brown hair, beautiful blue eyes with dark circles under them, just like his sense of humour, great taste in music and just about the sweetest smile you've ever seen.

We've been best friends for years now, and here's something you totally didn't see coming: I have a big, dumb crush on him. How original, right?

"You had a free period, right?" We're both done putting our books away, so we close our lockers and start walking towards the entrance of the building.

"Yup."

"Lucky you. Library and music with a bit of sketching?" He tries to guess what I was doing, and as always, he's right.

"Am I that predictable?" He laughs and looks at me.
