Burning. Sooyoung had been in a light slumber this morning as she'd been out all night with her dance class, but her rest didn't last much longer as she could smell smoke coming from outside her room. She rubbed her eyes and sighed as she got out of bed, and as she walked down towards the kitchen she chanted to herself. "Please don't be Jinsol's Hannah Montana blanket in the oven, please don't be Jinsol's Hannah Montana blanket in the oven, please don't be- Chaewon???"
"Hi Yves." Chaewon greeted her aunt's roommate as she attempted to throw water on the stove. Sooyoung had to look twice as she saw what looked like burnt chicken nuggets in a pan but her instincts finally kicked in as the pan caught fire. The older girl picked up the fire extinguisher the roommates had bought after Jinsol's cookie blessing incident and used it to put out the fire on the stove. She slowly turned to face Chaewon who seemed to have not a bit of guilt on her face and the child simply shrugged. "Whoops."
"Whoops? That's all you got to say kid? God, you're just like your aunt." Sooyoung sighed as she realised that neither of her roommates seemed to be in the apartment. "Where the hell is everyone?"
"Uh, I don't know. Jinsol just told my mom to have me wait here a while ago and that you were sleeping." Chaewon explained as she laid down on the couch with a huff. "You guys really need to redecorate in here."
"Well if you pay for it than I'll be more than happy to, your highness." Sooyoung replied sarcastically as she chucked the ashes of the nuggets in the bin. It then dawned on her that Haseul had an early class today, Jinsol had gone M.I.A. and the triplets were sleeping in the room opposite hers. Sooyoung felt her soul leave her body as she realised she was not only left on her own with the familiar child of Chaewon, but also the three other kids they'd been looking after for the past few days. "Oh no. Oh god no."
"What? Did you finally realise that you dress like my grandma?" Chaewon commented. "Because I can help you out with that."
"No, you little shit. I realised I've been left to look after four demons." Sooyoung said as she handed Chaewon one of Jinsol's boxes of raisins. "Did Jinsol say where she was going? Because neither of us have school today."
Chaewon shrugged as she flicked through the TV channels before stopping on an episode of The Powerpuff Girls. "I don't know, my mom dropped me off here and told me Auntie Sol would be back soon but instead I'm stuck here with a hag."
"I can't believe Jinsol taught you that word." Sooyoung said, rolling her eyes as she sat next to Chaewon who seemed to be down. Sooyoung wasn't one to care about kids' feelings but since it was Chaewon she decided to pry a little. "What's up with you? They cancel the last season of Peppa Pig or something?"
"No. I... I just..." Chaewon looked down and fidgeted with her hands as she tried to express her feelings. "I was looking forward to seeing Aunt Jinsol again. I had to have a sleep over with my other aunt and uncle because mommy was working but I hated it. They gave me carrots Yves, carrots!"
Sooyoung laughed at Chaewon's mini rant. She would never admit it but she found the little blonde's personality quite entertaining. "Don't worry kid, I'm sure she'll be back in a-"
As if it were magic, the front door was slammed open as a certain other blonde came rushing in. "CHAEWON"
"And there she is."
"Jinsol!" Chaewon switched off her sarcastic front for the moment as she ran up to Jinsol and jumped into her aunt's open arms. Jinsol hugged her niece tightly as she hadn't seen the girl for quite a while since Chaeyoung and Lisa had taken her with them on their business trip to New York. She'd hoped to see her sister too but for now she was ecstatic to see her favourite little girl. "I missed you so much Wonnie."
