"I don't trust this new guy" Dream said throwing his bag down, shutting the door behind him

George shrugged throwing himself onto the bed, "seems tame enough"

"Tame? He isn't an animal george"

"Eh, we're all animals these days Clay" He shrugged

Dream checked around the room his knife raised, george scoffed

"Problem?" Dream turned to look down at him

"You've checked the house over atleast eight times, i think it's safe to say that it's fine dream" George rolled his eyes getting comfortable in the bed, it was slightly dusty and didn't smell pleasant, but anything was better than sleeping outside.

"I'm safe george, what can i say"

"You're too tense"

"mhm" Dream placed his knife on the bedside table aswell as a flashlight before looking out of the window.

An eruption of laughter was heard in the room over, karl and sapnap.

Tommy had decided to sleep in a room on his own opposite dream and georges, he claimed he was tired.

"Seems like they're really hitting it off" George chuckled looking over to the wall where the sound was most present.

"He started making goo goo eyes the second he saw karl, the kids desperate" Dream chuckled continuing to look out at the dark streets

"Kid? You're what like a year and a bit older than him"
"Shut up"
"I'm not wrong"
"Not my fault you're almost 30"
"I'm literally 27 dream- well i think"
"Yeah, basically a pensioner" Dream turned to look at george, who was clearly not impressed with his teasing.

"Whatever" George flopped back down onto the bed.

a comfortable silence fell on the room, before george felt the need to break it.

"Dream?"
"hm?" dream watched as a cloud of smoke grew a few miles off, a short sigh left his mouth
"Do you ever feel lonely?"
"What kind of a question is that?"
"Dunno, just was wondering"
"Hard to be alone when you and sapnap are yapping in my ear constantly" He smiled, george watched dreams reflection against the glass.
"Oh don't act like you don't love it"
"i actually despise it"
"pfffft-" George paused, "yeah right" he scoffed
"hm" dream hummed in response.

"Dream"
"What now george"
"you didn't have to be so rude, i'm only trying to start conversation"
"Sorry, i'm just tired, continue"
"Do you ever miss him?"
"Who?" Dream turned to look at george who was sprawled across the bed
"Don't act dumb, you know who i'm on about"

Dream thought for a second, before realising, he shook his head and raised his hand signalling for george to shut up

"Nope- i'm not having this conversation right now george" He stopped shaking his hand
"We've gotta talk about it at some poi-"
"No we don't george!"
"Dream it's been three years"
"So let it be another three, i'm not talking about it"
"What happened to bad dream"

Dream froze, his heart racing in his chest, a feeling he was more than used to by now.

He turned back to the window, crossing his arms.

"Like i've told you a hundred times before george, he died"
"You've never explained how though- how he died"

the shifting of material was heard and the creaking of a floor board.

George sighed noticing how dream didn't respond.

"Dream, i'm sorry"

George stood behind dream wrapping his arms around his waist, resting his head on his back.

dream sighed and put his hands on top of georges, continuing to watch the outside world.
