Dream left the room, he adjusted his mask slightly before greeting wilbur who was leaning against a wall in the hallway.

"Oh you're ready!" He beamed
"Yeah" dream chuckled
"So how are you liking lmanberg?" Wilbur pushed the door open, the cold breeze hitting dreams face causing it to scrunch slightly. A gentle snow had began to fall over the town, rooftops and sidewalks alike were softly coated with the glistening cold white.

"i mean-" dream paused as his eyes glanced over two young children playing in the snow before being scooped up into their fathers arms.

"It's beautiful, i'll give you that" He smiled as he and wilbur trailed along the snow-coated sidewalks.

"It really is one of a kind" Wilbur chuckled as he pulled brown leather gloves over his hands, he waved to a man to was tending to crops in one of the allotments.

"i notice you're british, same with your brother" Dream noted feeling the snow crinkle beneath his boots, the sound of it compressing was comforting to him.

"My brother and i moved to Edmonton a year before everything fell, we were staying with our uncle. Six months later our dad joined us. When hell broke loose, my dad and uncle managed to convince a small community to help protect part of the town, from there we extended and renamed and have grown since." Wilbur was clearly proud of everything he and his family had achieved.

"You and your family really have managed to make something amazing"

"We're aware, things right now aren't great, a rival faction the Reductioners, keep taking a large percentage of our product. We may have large numbers but it mostly consists of family's and children, it isn't fair to make them fight for their lives, it's easier to give in to the enemy. Even if it leaves us short handed, my father tried to speak against it last week, they took him down on the spot. The entire town is shaken up" He let out a sigh, his warm breath disappearing into the cold air.

"That's awful, i'm sorry to hear."

"Unfortunately its life now" He frowned as the two turned a corner, a bright white church visible, the large cross caught dreams eye.

"on a lighter note, are you a religious man dream?"

"I mean- there was a time in my life i'd pray and believed in some form of higher entity, a god if you may. when everything fell though i guess i just sort of stopped believing" Dream took his wallet from his pocket, inside a fading picture of himself, his younger sister and mother and stuffed behind it was a cross pendant.

He shut it and put it back into his pocket, "We have a vicar here, let me introduce you! I'm sure he'd be more than happy to have you at one of his services this Sunday"

"you know the days of the week?"

"Of course! Today's a Friday, to be precise Friday the eighteenth of October, twenty twenty four."

"I haven't known the days of the week since the start- me nick and George all tried keeping up with it but i suppose we just lost count and gave up with it" Dream chuckled in awe at their knowledge of what could be deemed as such a simple, minor thing.

"Let's just get in side, the snows getting heavier now." Wilbur smiled pushing open the church door, he stepped in with dream following behind him.

The church was warm, it smelled of warm oak, firewood. The theme inside was dark brown woods, A lectern at the front with a large bible opened, dark stained glass windows ranging with such beautiful colours, blissful designs.

A figure left the back room, turned and jumped slightly noticing Dream and Wilbur's presence. He was an average height man, his skin tawny, with highlights of reddish-brown. His eyes big and warm, the colour similar to a milky coffee. He had the gentlest smile, and black hair that was pushed up, complimented with the classic white collar.

"Father Zak!" Wilbur beamed greeting the man
"Fathers a bit formal isn't it Wil? Just call me Zak, i've told you this" He chuckled
"To be fair you're not even a vicar" Wilbur chuckled
"You're right, i'm not, People assume i am simply because i'm married to the vicar, i don't even understand this whole god malarkey."
"Why are you wearing the vicars collar then?" Wilbur smiled pulling on Zak's collar
Zak shrugged in response, "He said it looked good on me"
"Geppy! Who are you talking to!" A voice called from the back room
"Wilbur and his friend!" Zak called back
"Ooo a new person!" The voice beamed emerging from the back room.

The male froze as he looked up to dream, his face quickly curled into a frown and his eyes seemed to tear up.

"Clay" He mumbled, his mouth remaining agape.
"no" dream choked, he adjusted his mask slightly.
"You two know each-other? Wonderful!" Wilbur beamed
"That's Clay? I thought he died Bad" Zak pulled on Bad's arm
"So did i"

Dream didn't say a word, he simply tried to process the situation, yet he couldn't. Years of grieving and untouched guilt for nothing, he knew he should be joyous and thankful to see his closest friend alive, yet he was upset- confused.

He left the church, running through the snow which now fell at a much faster pace, heavier even.

He made it to the apartment and knocked on the door repeatedly, before long a very sleepy George pulled it open. Dream shut the door behind him with a frustrated slam, before pulling himself into George.

"Dream what's going on? What happened?" George questioned as he patted his friends back
"I fucking love you George"
"Dream what happened?"
"I love you, i love you, i love you" Dream continued
"I don't understand, what's going on?"
"Just shut up and let me talk!"
"Okay" George mumbled
"I love you, i've loved you for years you idiot, i love you today and i'll love you just as much tomorrow, possibly even more."
"Dream-"
"Just be mine George, please"
"Yes i'll be your boyfriend dream but what's going on!"
"I don't have to be afraid anymore"
