A Lovely Mess

Day 8

"i cant believe we left him" George frowned as he leant his head against the window, trees and broken down vehicles seemed to fly past as dream sped down the road.

Tommy was already asleep in the back, sprawled across all three of the seats.

Dream just sighed, he didn't say a word in response, just a long release of breath which said a lot more than any words could.

"it's been four hours and you haven't said a word" George placed his hand on dreams leg, looking up at him, however dream just continued to focus on the road.

"dream, please?"

george sighed knowing dream wasn't going to speak, he simply leant his head back against the window and crossed his arms curling up on the seat beginning to take a rest.

Dreams mind was racing, he hadn't left sapnaps side in years, four to be specific. The year he moved in they stuck solely together due to the pandemic and even throughout the start of the apocalypse they never left each others side. So for the first time what felt like forever, there was an entire state between them, now they were in south dakota whilst sapnap was back in iowa.

A heavy snow was falling, it wasn't easy to see. The car was extremely cold but all he could do was push through it. He drove between the large mountains, thankful that the snow slowed the dead down. As much as he'd never openly say it, he hated them. He was scared of them and they creeped him out most of the time. They made him sick to his stomach, he couldn't stand it.

Yet he kept his head up and continued, because even just the slightest second he could give himself to breathe could risk his and his friends lives, so he had to keep moving forward. no time to stop.

He kept his left hand on the wheel but reached his right out, he pulled on georges hand releasing it from the tight cross armed position he was in. He interlocked their hands and continued to drive keeping his left hand on the wheel and his eyes on the road.

Not long and theyd finally be in Old Edmonton.
