Memories

The Jar

Annabeth's POV:
Nico looked like he would rather be swallowed up by the ground then spend another second here not that you could blame him. Me and Percy had been though our share of terrible things because of Hera but this was just plain awful.

Will was still starring slack jawed at Nico after we had learned that he had a crush on Will I had also seen Jason hand Percy ten bucks because he had won their bet. Nico's eyes were fixed on the floor as if he was willing to eat him alive so he would no longer have to sit though this nightmare.

The next memory began Nico was sitting in a graveyard somewhere in Boston he was perched on top of a grave and was clearly waiting for someone. I recognized it was the same graveyard from one of Nico's previous memories of when he was getting information from the Aurora girl.

Sure enough a few minutes later she walked into the graveyard in the same dark hoodie that was hiding her sunshine blonde hair and blue eyes. She lowered her hood when she was close enough to Nico who looked even worse than in the last memory we had watched.

"I didn't expect to see you so soon after last time" Aurora stated Nico let out a sigh "I need your help again, your information is always the most helpful and this is extremely important". "What kind of information" she asked suspiciously "I need all the information you have on doors of death" he asked.

Aurora's face paled "Nico you can't be serious" she answered "I need to do this if I can close the doors before Gaea rises then maybe just maybe no one else will get hurt". "Is this about helping your camp crush again" she asked "no I'm over that this is about making sure that I don't lose anyone else" he answered.

Aurora sighed "I don't know much about the doors most people with that information don't live to tell me but from what little I've heard their in the darkest part of the underworld". "Tartarus" Nico replied bitterly "it's a suicide mission Nico no one comes back from that place" she said.

"Then I guess I'll be the first".

Nico really had as much as a death wish as Percy.

The next memory began Nico was walking though the underworld towards the a pit I recognized it immediately tartarus. Nico walked towards the edge then he jumped, he had willingly jumped into a pit of  literal hell.

Everyone looked over at Nico in disbelief he had tried to prevent all out war between the two camp and Gaea's rising by willingly going to tartarus to close the doors of death.

The next memory began Nico was sitting in the darkness he had been in tartarus for a while by the looks of it when he spotted two giants. Nico followed them hoping they would lead him to the doors when out of nowhere he was grabbed by someone who had been hiding in the dark.

They stuffed him into the bronze jar Nico began to panic when he replied something, he pulled out a handful of pomegranate seeds and put one in his mouth. The next week he went in and out of a death trance filled with nightmares and terrible thoughts.

Poor Nico, me and Percy had been though tartarus too but at least the two of us had been together down there Nico though had been there all alone.

The memory cut to everyone arriving except me, I had been looking for the Athena Phaethon at the time. They saved Nico then they left to find me.

We watched as we tried to get back up on to the Argo two back me and Percy hanging on the edge of the pit to tartarus. "Promise me you'll get them to the doors Nico" Percy said "I promise" Nico replied Percy let go the edge of the pit and we fell into the darkness.
